What do /k/ think about upcoming Russian exercises on the border of NATO? According to intelligence data at least 100 thousand troops will be relocated to the Belarus.
Is there any possibilities that Russia actually invade/occupy Belarus and Baltics?
>>
>>35068519
Am I the only one surprised that the Ruskies actually have 100k troops to scrape together into some semi-organized exercise?
>inb4 vatnik shills

According to Wikipedia Russian military have over 1 million active personnel. But dont forget that their ground forces is all conscripts, except spetsnaz.

It's too bad that for the African / Italian / Pacific / D-Day landings that the allies didn't have some armored & heavily armed landing craft that just didn't beach themselves for close fire support.
>>
>>35068519
>Is there any possibilities that Russia actually invade/occupy Belarus and Baltics?
What for?
>>
>>35068519
One word answer= NO
Two word answer= NO, LOGISTICS.
Detailed answer = No, given that they have severe difficulties in paying, feeding and supplying their troops when they're on bases where the logistics chain is supposed to be at its best, there is no way they could support the supply needs of that many troops at a combat tempo of supply use.
>>
>>35069196
Russia actually has better logistics than whole european NATO part
>>
>>35068519
>invade/occupy Belarus
Belarus is pretty much 'allied' with Russia at this point. I wouldn't be surprised if they were willing to be annexed.
As for the baltics I don't think Russian soldiers would ever overtly occupy any territory. It would just happen in the shadows and behind scenes of the rebel/seperatist movement. Like what happened in Ukraine

>inb4 Russian soldiers were never in Ukraine (excluding Crimea)

Pretty much this. They have colossal problems with Ukraine, which technically on par with them.
Against NATO they have no chance.
>>
>>35069270
>They have colossal problems with Ukraine
Name 1 problem
>>
>>35069278
Well, Ukraine stalled Russian advance. And almost immediately Russia ask for peace talks.
I pretty sure Ukrainians in great soldiers, but, at least back then, they had no combat experience whatsoever.
>>
>>35069196
However occuping a basically friendly country and not calling it an occupation does not require said logistics. Nothing stops Putin from saying 'we leave a contingent of 10000 to protect a friendly country from NATO agressions'. The result is essentially the same as in a full blown occupation for the relevant aspects.
>>
>>35069322
Russia isn't exactly waging conventional warfare with combined arms, you realize this right?

>Belarus
I don't think there would be any point. Belarus cooperates with Russia anyway.
>Balitcs
No way. They're NATO members. Invading them would trigger a probably unwinnable war against NATO, possible nuclear war, and the collapse of the Russian economy (which depends on selling energy products to Europe).

>>35069322
I think Russia could have overrun Ukraine fairly easily, at least in the early part of the war. Thing is, this would have probably triggered the end of the EU-Russia energy products trade, and that would have collapsed Russia's economy. Which is why the Russians played the game of pretending that it was only volunteers going to Donbass. They know that the EU loves their energy products and doesn't really want to give up, so they want to give the EU as many excuses as possible not to. A full-on invasion of Ukraine would be too much.

It isn't a monkey model at all. You can almost consider it a completely different aircraft at this point.

H-6K bomber has been 90 percent modified based on the last generation of H-6H bombers.
The chinese upgraded everything from engines, LCD cockpit, new radars, avionics, and even upgraded the whole airframe with more carbon fiber and in the end the new H-6K is great for a strategic bomber.

Russia has been exporting arms far longer then China has and in much larger numbers. It is easier to get support, training, replacement parts, etc. Additionally Russian exports are more battle tested.

Still a few countries are buying some drones including Iraq, Saudi Arabia has bought some stuff including artillery pieces, Thailand is buying even more VT-4 MBTs. So there is a market for Chinese export it just isn't anywhere near s big as Russia's.

They kinda are. The Dutch understand they aren't a leading nation, and almost their entire military is in some way designed to help fill niches and support by bringing things that even in small amounts extra matter quite a bit.

Their escorts are very good, and four high end escorts is not an enhancement to sniff at. They can bring a couple extra LSDs as well to help with amphibious ops. Speaking of amphibious, their marine corp is very closely integrated with the British Royal Marines, to join up with their larger formations.

They've performed well thus far, they're doing better at being a supporting country in the alliance than many others.

the B-52 couldn't even be unseated by the B-2

also taking part in an en-mass nuclear strike(against an enemy already weakened by ICBMs) is easier than trying to attack a US carrier group without getting your wontons shot off by an AMRAAM

Very unlikely that it will become anything. NATO forces host war games on their borders all the time with no issue, same with US/SK forces on the North Korean border.

You clearly have no idea what you're talking about. The Russians are able to move huge formations and lots of equipment over a long distance very fast, much more frequently and rapidly than NATO. The Russians routinely train in large-scale combined arms, i.e. incorporating supporting artillery and air power with maneuver operations, something NATO stopped doing after Reforger. The simple fact of the matter is that the Russians are prepared to fight and win a general war in Europe, and NATO isn't.

not providing enough money to fund equipment =/= poor logistics. The ammunition either exists or can be made, and continental European road/rail networks are generally either good or very high quality. Even transatlantic shipping is far safer than in 1990 owing to the degraded state of Russian submarines vs the relatively high maintenance of NATO forces and the GUIK gap. The Problem is the Dutch and the Germans keep electing governments that expect far more out of their army than their funding can provide, because military funding hasn't been considered an important issue in those countries for many years (which is fucking stupid imo), so this sort of thing happens.
