Hey /k/! Happy Labor Day!

I've got this Beretta M1935 made in 1951 and it's a hand me down from my dad who got it from my grandpa. It functions great except for one thing. With the hammer down it is incredibly hard to rack the slide. Cock the hammer back and it racks just fine. Is there something wrong with it? I've been shooting with it 4 times or so and put about 300 rounds through it so I know it works but I'm in the fence about taking it to a gunsmith to get checked out. Thoughts and opinions?

INB4 lift more. I'm 6'6", 280 lbs and a machinist. It's not my hand strength.

That sounds normal. It is your hand strength.

>machinist
>can't diagnose a simple mechanical problem
I bet you mostly work with aluminum.

A machinist is not an engineer. He doesn't use his head for his job. He's more like a factory worker.

If it otherwise functions fine you probably don't have a serious mechanical problem. I've never handled one so I have no idea if that's normal for that model. Probably couldn't hurt to do a full detail strip, clean and lube. It is an old machine and all machines need routine maintenance. I've got a Gun digest that shows full disassembly it's not too bad. You can buy a pdf here for $4:

If you don't feel comfortable doing it yourself shouldn't cost too much for a gunsmith to do a strip and clean.

depends on the kind of job though
Doing a roughing op on some aluminum is piss easy and mindless
High precision jobs using super-alloys require more attentiveness.

It's because when you rack the slide against a decocked hammer, you're compressing two springs, but when the hammer is cocked, you're only compressing one spring.

Honestly, this is one of the stupidest questions people make their own thread for on a regular basis on this board. Next time, try QTDDTOT first.

Fag.

You know you're obese, just fyi, lying faggot. Next time try to just say something believable like "I normally don't have trouble racking a slide". Making up shit like your bullshit height and weight makes normal people think you're a lying faggot. In this case, we're right.

I have a 1934 and the slide is extremely hard to rack on thes pistols.
