Not all of their weapons have been good and it's probably easy to find Germans that hate the G36. A lot of American hate comes from how HK almost gave up on the US market after they made shit like the SL8 and mutilated the mp5k. It looks like they're finally going to embrace the US and deal with their debt now that they've fired their CEO. So sure HK makes great firearms but there's plenty a person can find to bitch about besides piddly shit like not wanting finger grooves on the VP9.

Just want to throw this out there-
The guy who started kel-tec did so because his daughter was assaulted while going to college.
He saw a gap in the market- either guns had a high initial purchase prices and complicated maintenance for someone new to guns or cheap garbage saturday night special tier. He wanted to sell guns that were affordable but wouldn't blow your fingers off when it grenaded and could be safely maintained by a novice.

I'm not here to debate their quality, I've never fired one myself.
I'm simply stating that his business model is exactly what /k/ preaches- supporting the 2nd by making firearms available to all and using them to protect loved ones.

Their newer stuff shoots well, but my P11 that my dad bought back in the 90s is a bitch to shoot. Hard to hold onto, double action only which I hate, and the grip texture hurts. The PF9 is more pleasant, and I'm sure the p3at would be less snappy. That being said, I haven't found any other 10 round 9mm that's as pleasant to carry as the P11. It's not perfect, but it's cheap and light and it works.

I have a Taurus in my collection.
A 3rd gen millennium pro.
First gen was garbage (cracked slides), second was at least safe to fire (broken magazine retention) but third gen is stable and I've never had an issue.
I wouldn't necessarily suggest it as a purchase, but the ergonomics are better than many other "accepted" brands. I prefer to fire my Sig but its twice the cost. Kind of sad that my taurus feels better than a S&W Sd9ve or any glock, and the Taurus groups surprisingly well.

S&W and Ruger are /k/ approved regarding their revolvers. Other products are hit and miss according to some. The companies themselves still have a bit of a bad rap because Bill Ruger was a money grubbing shitter who supported the AWB. Thankfully he's dead and Ruger did a 180. S&W's fuck up (gun locks and the promise of smart-gun research) could be sympathized with because the Clintons forced Smith's hand with lawsuits over their guns being used in murders. The gun lock thing was forced onto them to get Clinton to wave away the lawsuits. The gun locks are still there today, but Smith has done nothing to make them hard to take out.

Huh? The ATF forced them in 1989 after HK were the only ones who spoke out against the ATF redefining what a 'sporting purpose' under the 1968 GCA was. The ATF fucking hates HK, which is why the stuff they can import looks so wildly different. ATF controls Form 6s, so they can basically say no to whatever they don't like.

People who visit these boards, including me and most likely you, are borderline spergs with extremely negative (or positive) opinions about certain things, and unlike a lot of other places on the Internet, there is nothing preventing them from venting that hate without restraint.
So you won't find a "/k/ approved" gun company, only a company less people hate around here (which usually only means it's so obscure no one really cares).
