Wrong. The QE does have a pretty good sortie rate, but is very limited in the deck space it can use for continuous operations. There's enough room on the deck to load three or four additional fighters while another is taking off if they're not actively recovering aircraft. If they are recovering aircraft, that number is reduced to one fighter on the deck to load, one for takeoff and one that is being moved from the hanger. Unless they load the planes in the hangar, which is a very bad idea, this limits their continuous flight operations. The CDG class is similarly limited by being virtually the same hull.

Most of that comes down to where that half acre is and the layout of the deck.
That half acre is enough space to have fighters prepped and on the line for the two forward cats as soon as they reset while still running recovery.Also not having a second tower actually helps in this regard. If it's not running recovery the other cats and additional deck space can be used to double the rate if the loading is fast enough.

That's a funny way of saying "we paid for access to the design, then fucked our own budget, realised we couldn't afford it and then dropped it in the White Paper."

There's no chance we're getting another nuclear carrier. It was purely a budget decision that we dropped to one, and then when that requirement was instated to only have a single carrier, replacing the CdG was dropped as a concept.

It wasn't supposed to replace her, it was supposed to be alongside. Now that we're a single carrier navy, we don't get the new ship.

There's nothing fancier or hidden and twisting words about it. We just couldn't afford a second carrier. Now the focus is on what replaces CdG, not what comes alongside her.
