If you get the dynamic factions mod, you can start some really silly shit. I was doing a Mercenary playthrough. Bandits kept taking up residence at the apartment building across from the merc base in dead city, and kept getting wrecked. Been playing COC with AO. Very fun but too easy if you keep the minimap. After a few hours I downloaded a HUD mod and it made the zone scarey again, because I would actually have to look forward not top-left.

My character is clear sky and I'm warming up to the mercs in dead city and the loners on cordon. It's sad not being able to go to sadovsk, because freedom is aggressive towards me. But it makes the gameplay interesting

The civilian filter is confirmed to have Asbestos in a raw form, which is dangerous. The Military filters are semi-safe as they are a composite Asbestos material. It should be safe as long as the filter is not out of date, or exposed to moisture. For future reference, the mask is not the danger, it is the filter. You can fit just about any 40mm filter to a GP 5 or above.

It's because /pol/ started applying the term LARPing to the kekistan types that go out to protests. The term gained popularity. In reality, LARPing is playing a roleplaying game but IRL - most commonly with foam swords and padded arrows. It's a roleplaying game, that's the key distinction.

Thankfully, most NATO filters, particularly later models don't have Asbestos based filters. Same with Russian 90+ filters. That's why people put the Israeli canister on the PMK and what not. All 40mm are for the most part compatible.

Shadow of Chernobyl first. Either unmodded, or mod it with the Zone Reclaimation Project, which is mostly bugfixes. Then Call of Pripyat - it's three huge maps instead of strings of mid-sized maps, and has enough different mechanics to be a surprisingly different experience while maintaining the feel.

Only play Clear Sky and Lost Alpha if you're desperate for moar S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Clear Sky was and still is a bugfest and was mediocre overall, overturning a lot of the conventions that made SoC great (it has a fucking boss fight, for example). Lost Alpha is gorgeous, but the story is absolute utter shit to the point of being cringeworthy, and pushed a lot of jumpscare sequences as opposed to the fairly procedural horror elements of the other games.

If you've finished SoC and CoP and want something prettier, install Autumn Aurora for SoC. More realistic weapons overhaul, more weapons overall, and some godly ENB and texture work for a very brown, grim, dangerous Zone.

If you want more content instead, install Call of Chernobyl. In fact, I'd recommend it over Lost Alpha or Clear Sky, unless you really want to get Clear Sky's story without reading the wiki. CoC is the current hotness, modders took the CoP engine and stitched together every map from every game, as well as a bunch of maps that never actually made it into the final game. There's no real plot, you choose one of the factions and can pick up quests and freeroam. It's so big that it has submods for adding weapons and items, tweaking damage/realism, and improving questlines.

I used my Gp-5 for around an hour, noticed a marked shortness of breath and a persistent dry cough, consistent with asbestos exposure. If SHTF I'm not going to care about the possible exposure, for fucking around innawoods I will be getting a new filter.

I've just tried it on CoP (finished all games twice at least over the years). There's a lot of nice stuff but some things are total cancer and don't really add realistic shit nor make the game better.

What about tweaking the fucking scripts? Is it really necessary to have so little time for blowouts?
