Is it still a viable weapon system
>>35050449
yes.
>>35050449
Yes
>>35050449
Viable, yes.
Still worth getting, only if you live in a cucked state. Otherwise buy an AK for a little more $
>>35050515
>little more $
soon to be a little less
>>35050449
>come to k
>ask if sks is viable
Do you where you are new friend?
>>35050449
Obviously yes, why wouldn't it be?
>>35050640
Why is that?
>>35050449
What kind of varnish would i need to make my sks look like this?
Don't get one OP, they're addicting as hell. Buy one SKS and you'll want another, then another. Either a couple that match each other pretty well or a different variant produced by a different country.
Anyone know how well the SKS-Ds work?
>>35050449
It kill you ded semi-automatically
So yes.
"Thou shalt grab SKS, go innawoods"
Good as a cheap handout in SHTF, but otherwise the AKM beats it in every way for only like $150 more then the price of a sks
Well, it goes shooteh-shooteh-bangey when you pull the metal thingy at the bottom, so I'd say yes.
>>35050449
It is a tried and tested, battle proven (including on modern battlefields today) easy-to-use semi-automatic intermediate caliber rifle whos ammunition and spare parts are cheap and readily avalible.
So yeah they are viable.
>>35050889
so does the akm do everything sks does but better even range wise?
>>35050856
Shellac
>>35050970
Most things yeah, but what you described is the vz58 to a tee.
>>35050449
Viable? Absolutely.
Worth purchasing in the year of 2017? Probably not.
I love my SKS even if she is a Chinese model, but the prices they go for these days are ludicrous. I got mine in mint condition for $200, but these days they're closer to $400, if not more. At that price you may as well just grab an AR or AK.
>>35050808
Because there are people charging 500-600 dollars for an SKS
After Sandy Hook, I bought an AK because it was the same price as an SKS
>>35050449
>weapon system
and yes, you fucking retard holy shit
>>35050493
>tfw Furiosa will never use your shoulder to stabilize her sks
>>35051246
EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
>>35051257
Did you watch the movie? There was indeed EEEEEEE after she fired there, and again when he fires a Glock near his ear. One of the few movies that actually acknowledges effects on hearing from shooting unprotected
>>35050863
The SKS-D can be a bit finicky with letting go of magazines but that's more to do with huge tolerances on AK mags than anything else. They're a pretty snazzy rifle but damn rare compared to their run of the mill friends.
>>35050994
Or a type 81
>>35050449
Yes and so are the Mini-14 and M1a. Perhaps not the IDEAL gun for the job but more than sufficient.
But a lot of it comes down to training. A shitbox chink nugget is a genocide machine in the hands of a properly trained operator but a tacticool AR is worthless if the owner keeps ND'ing into his feet.
>>35051479
I just imagined some mall ninja fag with his pimped out dpms AR shooting himself, funny shit
>>35051565
I've seen it IRL when I was in the muhreens
that's what happens when you grip a rifle the wrong way
>>35051246
Why the fuck didn't he stick his finger in his ear or something jesus
>>35052297
Hollywood oversight
>>35052297
because he's not a pussy
you shouldn't be wearing earpro for anything without a muzzle brake
>>35050449
Viable, yes
Cost-effective, no
>>35051479
From what I've seen personally, things like the SKS and Mini-14 etc. tend to be more intuitive for first time shooters. More often than not they can pick it up and with very little to no training learn how to shoot it. Maybe not well, but shoot it.
Whereas without any firsthand experience most people won't figure out the safety on the AK/charging handle on the AR.
>>35050449
>weapon system
>>35052428
To add to this, the entire system is relatively simple, making it easier for a first time shooter to field strip, clean, and understand the function of most/all parts.
>>35052418
>because he's not a pussy
SAY WHAT ? SAY IT AGAIN, I DIDN'T GET IT THE FIRST TIME
Well
>semi-auto
>can take a stripper clip pretty easily
>accurate enough at practical ranges
>fires an effective round
It's not an AK or AR but it's still better than any bolt action rifle.
>>35050449
>weapon system
>>35053329
wrong pic
>>35050449
what do you mean is it still viable? its gook approved, of course its viable
>>35050889
SKS is more reliable. Fite me.
