What's /k/'s thoughts on bullpups and this gun?
>>
>>35037872
Looks California compliant
>>
>>35037872
I handled both that and the regular version of it at NRA show. I kept hitting the mag release by accident on the regular version. No thx. The one you posted is actually not as uncomforatble as it looks. But I live in a free state. So, no thx.
AUG is best and only bullpup
>>
Lame. I think one day they will be done right, when someone combines a decent trigger with forward/downward ejection with sensible control placement. However, contrary to what might be said by blind fanboys trying to justify their purchases; and hipsters with an ingrained love of anything unconventional and not-AR, it hasn't been done yet. Honestly, if the X95 had been forward ejecting, I think it would have come pretty close.
>>
>>35037872
looks like a side projection of a manta ray
>>
Looks retarded, but its performance vs weight ratio is incredible.
>>
>>35037878

This but I also like it. It's not a traditional design and make enough departures where I think it could be successful outside of the ban state market. Consider that the gun can fit into a large raquet case due to it's compact bullpup design and lack of a pistol grip. No other gun has that, as far as I'm aware.

Might get one. I'm hoping the idea at least catches on.
>>
>>35037872
Pro's
>Good for mechanized units
>Space efficient
Con's
>Squishy trigger
>Manual of arms
>Cleaning/reliability
So basically, if you issue a bullpup, do it like pic related
>>
>>35037872
/K/omandos hate bullpups because they
A) don't own guns
B) never fired one
C) has fired one, but the trigger isn't up to thirty standards of Gucci ar bullshit
>>
>>35037872
I like it. It's got a sort of alien hive/organic weapon aesthetic to it, like it was grown in a vat and implanted in a newly spawned drone before being cut off by Tommy Lee Jones. Or something.
>>
>>35037878
>boolet button
>cali compliant
>>
>>35038319
>>35038319
if it doesnt have a pistol grip or a flash hider or a forward grip or an adjustable stock (seriously) then it can have a detachable magazine (for now). there's probably another disqualifier that even i can't remember, and i sperg out about this shit.
>>
>>35038168

Jesus, how convoluted/squishy must that mag release be?
>>
>>35037872

Ah, Kel Tec. The dumbest geniuses to ever manufacture arms.
>>
>>35038381
Couldn't tell you, James. But the theory behind this gat is solid.
>>
>>35038319

no pistol grip -> detachable magazine ok
>>
>>35038410
>>35038374
>if it doesnt have a pistol grip or a flash hider or a forward grip or an adjustable stock (seriously) then it can have a detachable magazine
>no pistol grip -> detachable magazine ok
this doesn't make sense.
>>
>>35038422
>this doesn't make sense.
Name one thing in California that makes sense.
>>
>>35038168
None of those cons apply to modern bullpups.
>>
>>35037872
It looks like if you had big enough hands you could put your thumb on top of the receiver, which is probably a bad idea.
>>
>>35038422
Try explaining that to the anti-guns.
Pro-tip. They don't care.
>>
>>35038449
That's how you're supposed to hold it.
Just like a conventional rifle stock.
>>
>>35038422

what a shocking revelation
>>
>>35038441
Manual of arms doesn't apply to modern bullpups? Are you pretending to be retarded? Cleaning, also, is no easier than it ever was. There's a case to be made for the trigger part, but not a very good one, remember that military equipment is manufactured by the lowest bidder.
>>
>>35038498
Cleaning is as easy as anything else, arguably easier in some. Manual of arms is different, not worse. If you'd stop sucking ar15 cock and train with a different platform for more than five minutes its not difficult at all.

I really want the uncucked version, but I refuse to spend four digits on a Keltec. If I can score one for ~900 wholesale I will, otherwise I'll have to pass.
>>
>>35038567
I got one for ~$500.
>>
>>35038520
>As easy as anything else
F200: fuck no
Tavor: nope
AUG: no
Bushmaster: getting close
L85: no
Manual of arms is definitively slower and less intuitive.
I have not mentioned the AR-15 at all.
>>
>>35038604
Fs2000 Is stupid easy unless you're doing detail strip. Can't comment on the rest as I don't own them, but the augs removable barrel should make it easy as well.

If you think a quarter second extra matters you need to go back to call of duty. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt for competition, but nothing will stack up to a specific built platform there.
>>
>>35038712
You are doing a detail strip. Why are you so defensive? I'm not saying "lol teh bullpup sux," just outlining pro's and con's.
>>
>>35038868
Why on earth are you doing a detail strip for cleaning? I'm not defensive, I'm telling you how negligible those cons are.
>>
>>35038567
Classic Firearms just had a bunch of them for 899
>>
>>35038921
>if you'd stop sucking ar15 cock...
>[...] you need to go back to Call of Duty
>"not defensive"
A firearm is a tool, and some tools are better in certain roles than others. All have drawbacks. Bullpups are excellent for mechanized use because of excellent space efficiency. They lose to a conventional setup in on foot use because of trigger, ergonomics, and manual of arms, all of which lead to inefficiency or innaccuracy. I can guarantee you every part of my AR is clean in a minute tops, but if gunk gets into the enclosed spaces of a bullpup, there's no way to know where without stripping it completely.
>>
>>35039707
>I can guarantee you every part of my AR is clean in a minute tops,
it would still get kicked back by the armorer as being dirty at least 5 times before they let you turn it in.
>>
>>35038430
Yosemite and good tacos
There's two things
>>
>>35039746
Mud, dirt, foreign objects. But yes, not that I blame the armorer. That job is way less fun than it sounds.

>>

>>35039707
You're retarded. The FS2000 and AUG uppers both come away from the stock giving you full access to clean all the working parts in the stock, including the trigger and transfer bars. The trigger packs on the FS2000 is easier to access and clean than an AR-15's too, mainly because of its relative width and component spacing.

Not all bullpups are X95s, and if you're just referencing that one inrange video for this talking point, you need to go get some hands on time before continuing.

>>
>>35038584
Where and how? Not challenging ya, just interested.
>>
>>35040202
>You're retarded
Cool argument. I maintain that bullpups are more problematic in this way. I understand that there's a give and take as far as certain parts go, but AK's, AR's, SIG's, etc. come apart easily to clean whatever you nead to much more easily.
Isn't inrange that other channel that Ian is on sometimes? I don't watch it.
Oh, and for the guy I was talking to originally: I forgot to even mention that better bullpups like the F2000 are also more expensive even in stock configuration.
>>
>>35038567
There are two at my LGS, black for $929 and OD green for $959.

I'll buy a kel-tec rifle. when the furniture is no longer held together by common screws.

i have a KSG, and i like it just fine. though I wish they did captive frame pins.

There's still a lot of hard-to-get spaces in there, and a bad jam during combat isn't great with either of these designs.
