Why is 5th gen so hard for other countries?

This is a blue board which means that it's for everybody (Safe For Work content only). If you see any adult content, please report it.

No other country is even approaching a production model, they're all stuck in prototype hell while America already has TWO proven operational 5th gen stealth fighters in full-scale production.

1. We haven't had a Air-to-Air or even major Air-to-ground jet fight in a long fucking time.
2. US has more money and tech than any other countries.
3. Certain parts of the US Military need an excuse as to why they are still receiving funding. If they break even, they are at high risk of not being able to receive more or even get reduced funding.

>huge military industrial complex with lots of room, capital and manpower for specialization (this applies to other industries too, america has so many resources that it can afford to throw money at things in the hope that a new apple or microsoft will pop up, other countries can't do that to the same extent)

That line of thinking is where "white guilt" comes from. It's based on the idea that people are responsible for things they didn't do, and leads to things like an irish man apologising to a jamacian man for american practices of slavery, even though neither person had anything to do with it.
>>
>>35037335
>>35037345
This is what I hate about all this. People hate and hate and hate and hate without even thinking about how the person you endlessly vilify and condemn eventually loses any incentive to try and be a better person and eventually has everything to gain from being the monster you accuse them of being. It never ends well for anyone, especially when the persons and generations you accuse were never monsters to begin with.

The equation eventually corrects itself. Every action has a reaction. Anglo-Saxons and other Europeans forced colonialism and globalization on the world and now it's coming back to destroy them. All because of the systems they created and forced on a world that used to be separate and in its place.

Now the equation is balancing out. You reap what you sow.

When the fuck I mentioned race in the whole thing? It's not fucking hard to see through economic statistics in global trade that US is a fucking leech, pumping out resources from the rest of the world. US is no better than USSR or Nazi Germany, except neither USSR nor Germany didn't have economical strength of US to buy other countries' freedom and independance and had to rely on army instead. US drove Europe to shit financing Hitler before WW2 and USSR when the war started to ensure maximum destruction on all sides of the conflict, joining the active fight when Germany was already defeated. USA is literally an imperialist country, using its economic strength to keep the rest of the world under their power.
>>

You're a very angry and hateful person who needs to chill out. The enemies of your nation are the same enemies of the US' - unfortunately, many of them are the enemy within. Globalist powermongers are not allies of America, because they are more than happy to destroy this country if they can make money off it and bail to another one. But if we're all Imperialist and we need to be destroyed, you don't want to create a world where America's best choice is to become more Imperialist.

Explain to me how, as an Irishman, whose civilization has been conquered and defacto enslaved by Romans and English, has "white guilt". Especially when my ancestors came to America and were forced into the Union Army on pain of deportation? What guilt is there for that? What does your equation say about the Irish, the Poles, the Swedes, the Swiss, all the peoples who were never trans-continental conquerors?

I expect and demand no reparations from the UK. There was a brutal time, sure, but thats the way the world has always been.

>America is a leech

America turns resources into technological wonders they share with the world. In many cases resources the locals thought were worthless, this includes human resources. America has given the world the opportunity to join a vast global community of trade and prosperity. The only holdouts are the violent, criminal and the fanatical; people of such low worth they don't merit the time of correcting. America isn't perfect but it's the best representation of enlightenment the world has ever seen.
>>
>>35037686
>US is a leech
America, like most developed countries, produces only higher-end industrial products (ie., CNC machines and tractors), financial services (JP Morgan), technological service/design (Apple, AT&T), Chemical products (DuPont), and medical products (Insulin Pumps, etc). In fact, our oil industry is somewhat rare among developed nations in that we are simultaneously a primary producer (coal and oil) AND refiner.

All developed countries import primary resources and cheap goods, and spit out higher tech designs and goods. Dont be salty just because we got a great break post-WW2

No it has two in service and one in full-scale production.

And the US didnt build F35 on it's own. Part of the reason for the Uk not having an independent project is because it merged it's 5th gen project (pic related) with the JSF program.

The UK is also doing much of the design work for the Turkish 5th gen and collaborating with Japan on a new 5th gen fighter.

The UK is also working on it's own '6th gen' ( i hate the concept of aircraft generations but i will use them for simplicity). In the form of Taranis which is to evolve into multi-role UAV (strike and AAW).

All this combined with the work BAE has done on F22, B2 ect puts us in pretty good place.

To summarise, between now and when Typhoon needs to be replaced in 2040ish, BAE will have worked on B2, F22, Gripen, F35, The continued upgrade of Typhoon, TAI TFX, Taranis, presumably B21 and an as yet unnamed Anglo Japanese 5th gen.

So when it;s time to replace typhoon there's plenty of knowledge to draw from, we're in a pretty good place.

I feel bad for the French and Germans who are having to replace Rafale and shit tier Typhoons early so that their aerospace industries don't die - the german one hardly exists anyway.

Cold War peace dividend. The rest of the story was supposed to go "Something something United Nations something something Kumbaya". And where there was conflict, it didn't need a $150m air superiority superplane.
We'd have cut the Raptor as well, were the US defense budget not gigantic. Well, we kinda did as it is. Doubtless the F-35 would have received the same trimming, were international partners not involved, the planes we fly now not getting past their due date, and Russia/China not posing the threat they do.

Same reason the Israelis pushed out APS while everyone else was golfing. People thought we had reached the end of history, save those who had to keep fighting. And now we're behind the ball, scrambling to put Trophy on the Abrams while hulks of dead tanks litter the Middle East and Eastern Europe.

The F-22 was delayed by more than a decade because of funding going down the tubes for it. It's initial IOC schedule for the project was '93-'94. It got put waaayy on the backburner after the USSR fell.

>trophy

Had more to do with the fact that by the 90s, the Army had the youngest fleet of vehicles out of the four branches and their funding got toned down substantially as things were moved back to their traditional areas of focus: the Navy and Air Force.

When was Ireland conquered by the Romans?

You're aware of Irish aggression against Britain too right? It wasn't 1000 years of one-way invasions. The Irish colonised Scotland, that's why it's called Scotland, they invaded Wales and Cornwall too several times. The Irish did to Scotland what England did to Ireland, but worse. At least Irish is still spoken in Ireland. Pictish and Cumbric are extinct.

I agree with your point I just think your assessment of Irish history is off.

Very few countries have the capabilities to produce 4th gen aircrafts let alone 5th gen.

Right now, outside of the US, only Russia/India, China and Britain/Turkey are working on any 5th gen fighters.

So from gen 4 to 5 we lost both Germany and France in the and race and the UK joined a partnership with Turkey to keep developing and Russia joined in with India, only really China joined with their capabilities and once the 6th gen stats even more countries will drop out.

Gen 6 well probably just be the US, UK and China. Maybe not even China if their debt bubble collapses, if it collapses soon enough their j-20 might not even be a reality. And Russia's 5th gen aircraft might end up as juste a prototype with only a handful of models built, India will probably have enough of them to scare off China/Pakistan.

Awesome thing the UK has, just says "this general area is approved to fly low level at very high speeds." US low levels are 5 miles on each side of centerline for the most part so 10miles wide overall, then have some altitude restrictions on that as well which restricts the type of practice attacks you can do on various factories and such on the low level routes. Always would be nice to do a 30 pop attack so WSO bro has more time to get a good des on the target and lase it easily but sometimes have to go with 10 pop for altitude restrictions.

>>
>>35055050
From flying F-15Es. There are military airspaces where it isn't low level dependent and the airpsace goes from SFC to FL500 but those are not very common. Nevada NTTR and some others have that pass but it isn't as fun as UK low levels from what I hear.

>>35055036
Yeah, some good low level stuff there. My best low level experience was in the Mountain Home area going into canyons like you see in Independence Day. The "edge of the world
low level was great, going over a cliff then inverted right after to get back down low. Airspace there is known as "the world" so of course the awesome ridge crossing on one side of it as known as "edge of the world." So look at an AP1B to see what the normal low level route structure is, they're all fairly small.

AND my best friends in school are all immigrants, some of them Muslim and they are nice people but its common fucking sense that people who grow up in violent situations often adapt to their environment with violent behavior and often suffer from PTSD. Obviously I dont think that most of the immigrants are bad people but it's not acceptable for crime rates to sky rocket so until a solution can be found there is a rational reason to slow down immigration. If you knew anything about BAE then you'd know it's relationship with the US is different to any other company. hence why BAE was able to buy the most secretive parts of Lockheed in 2000.

The US board members are purely for purposes of liability. The same with data storage in the US. Personel and information is free flowing between the UK and US.

There's literally no technology that the US and UK don't share. Nuclear reactor designs, ICBMs, cyber warfare, electronic warfare. it all crosses over because both countries realise that trying to hide information from one another just makes working together more or less impossible.

>The general public loves to suck military dick. For "muh patriotism"
That depends heavily on the demographic you're examining. Lots of the military dick sucking you see from people is a result of fallout from how badly veterans were treated during/after the Vietnam War. This doesn't necessarily translate into a love of country. Americans have an incredible ability to divorce support for soldiers from support for the miliatry and the nation as a whole. Look at all of these Hollywood types who put those movies up for awards. They'll wax poetic about the valor of the brave American soldier and then the next day talk about how they support slashing the military budget because the US is a racist imperialist nation. Also, the movies typically contain themes about the government as an antagonist, usually along the lines of not providing a clear and compelling reason for the soldiers to be making the sacrifices they are and/or not properly supporting them once they do. These themes are usually entirely absent from most other foreign propaganda films.

Chinese propaganda is much more effective at generating support for Chinese government policy than American propaganda. I would argue that it is because American audiences and filmmakers are used to and demand a higher standard of artistic quality when ot comes to major releases.

That point is largely irrellevant since youre comparing one country to a group of countries, especially since the one using Boeing more has Boeing within its borders and the one that uses Airbus more has Airbus.

Without data on how many planes are in each country and what there doing, its hard to say either way, and I was at work for 14 hours yesterday (as an airport lst) and I just dont care anymore.

As for hardware, Im hoping the V-280 does as good as it looks.

Burger here, this couldn't be further from the truth.

I just don't think jet fighters are very in these days, thanks to the war in Afghanistan. Most people associate the USAF with bombing terrorists currently, not dogfighting enemy fighters. Hard for Hollywood to make a film out of that.

>Another "WE ARE STILL RELEVANT. RULE BRITTANIA" shitpost

Fuck. I find Yanks and their chest beating annoying enough but at least theirs is founded in reality. When Brits do it, it descends to another very low realm of miserable delusion.

This. There are regions of China with more economic weight than the entirety of the UK yet they still wish to fancy themselves as members of that small and august group of superpower states. A group which the US and Russia will soon fall out of.

That trailer looks pretty bad.

Russia has already fallen out of it. USA will remain a superpower even when surpassed by China, as powerful local allies such as Japan (and increasingly India) will enable the US to counterweight even a superior China.

Barring a complete economic collapse, the USA isn't going anywhere as a superpower anytime soon.
