I bought my first katana at a store recently, just wondering what /k/ thinks of this particular sword.

Its a cheap sword what do you want us to say/ Also it should be displayed blade up with the tsuka on the left hand side.

Are ten ryu swords truly battle ready? I think being a functional weapon makes it way cooler than a pressed tin piece of shit.
Also thank you for the display advice

Battle ready is just a marketing term. I guess technically yeah, you can kill a man with it.
>>35036053
Cool.
I mean, I'm obviously not going to kill anybody with it, but its nice to know it could kill.
I mostly bought it as a conversation piece/decoration

Why did you but a Japanese sword? I understand they are unique being isolated (kinda) for most of their existence. Why not a European or Viking sword? Plus, Dragonman has a 500year sword captured in WW2

I saw it, i liked it, i bought it.
That's all folks.
>>35036123
Why does it have to be one or the other?
>>35036123
I happened to like the way it looked. And after months of dismissing it as a silly childhood fantasy, i just said fuck it and bought it.

maybe he wants to larp as a samurai instead of a knight
all swords are basically really sharp and dangerous toys, i don't think people buy them for practical reasons

Should get a Nambu next, then Hirohito will smile upon you.
>>35036406
Why not a fusion of both, like ancient nord armor and dragonbane combo. That would be pretty cool.
Why can't a knight wield a katana?

Is it bad that I've always thought this dude pulled off the look way better than he should've, where it's actually kinda cool, even though we all know it's still retarded?
