Bought this. Gonna get it fixed up. Serial number dates to 1942, made for the Wehrmacht.
Just picked up the AUG on Monday, won't get to shoot it until Sunday

How do you like the light I have never seen one before.

Yes sir it's fucking great

Nice gun Baer bro

The light is great. It's a Truglo trupoint laser/light combo. I like it because the laser is actually inside the flashlight housing so it has a low profile and won't snag on anything when drawing the weapon. Plenty of brightness and the laser is spot on. I manually shortened it so it fits the gun better by sawing off the end and putting the end of another flashlight on it. Pic related is unmodified version. Good value for the price.

you would have done much better by documenting that process with photos and sharing it here in a thread

I just bought the extended rail for my AUG A3 M1. I'm very, very tempted to buy another one, a white one.

Don't mind me just pissing away money on stupid.

There was too much trial and error for me to properly document it, but I can recall the actual process. This was all done by hand with a hacksaw, bench grinder, sandpaper, vice, and a digital caliper. Going into this I half expected to just destroy the light, but my final result was better than expected. Hope this helps!
Basically what I did was take a hacksaw to the trupoint and cut it to the desired length. Then I bought a Utilitech LWFL1402 flashlight from Lowe's (only cheap light I could find that was generally the right size), cut the end off of that, and ground some material off of one side so it would clear the picatinny rail. I cut a piece of .08" thick Lexan polycarbonate to replace the cheap, easily-scratched Lowe's flashlight lens. Once the contacting points were sanded to fit, I carefully applied Pliobond 25 to seal everything together and clamped it in a vice to cure for a few days. Finally, I covered it in masking tape and sprayed some black enamel around the the Lowe's part to cover the exposed metal and seal the point where the two parts fit together.

I flipped a Police magnum to some retard for double what I paid for it, because he dosent know you can buy them as police surplus for sub 200 where I live.
He seemed like a nice guy, but cash is cash and im not going to tell him.
Does that count? It was a nice gun.
