So, how are all you Califags holding up? Ready for the new ammunition laws starting in 2018? I'm sure as hell not, I'm pissed as hell!

Welcome to cali.
Just remember, with each shit law that passes, it's the best time to own guns in cali.
Sortof like a terminally ill cancer patient knowing each day, no matter how shitty they feel that day, it's still the best they're ever going to feel ever again.

-can't order ammo online anymore
-if you do it has to go to a "licensed" ammo dealer and you have to pay a bunch of fees
-you can't' buy more than 500 rounds a month
-no more private sales of ammunition
>>
>>35031302
All I see happening is a big black market for ammunition from now on based on what you just said.
>>

Was there a correlation between ammunition purchases over 500 rounds and a propensity for violence?

Are shooting incidents in California generally conducted by people who purchased more than 500 rounds per month?
>>
>>35031302
So reloading.
Or is that a no no.

>>
>>35031369
There isnt

None of these laws have any sense behind them beyond more inconvenience and antigun bullshit
>>
>>35031372
Just have to get your buddies to order stuff for you. I hope 22lr doesn't count towards that total as it's just a step better than a damn pellet rifle.
500rds is more then enough for me per month in real calibers, but that's going to destroy some people's ability to shoot as much as they want.

Don't be silly.
There is never going to be a black market for items they are trying to regulate to death.
No, this will just make for more common sense gun regulation and citizens will follow the new fair laws without question!
The new taxes will give California water too.

>>35031321
Anyone know if calguns or the nra are fighting these laws in court?

I know the injunction against the mag ban happened, maybe the ammo ban can get hit too, especially if it really is only 500 rounds.
>>
>>35031244
I'm considering joining a range that has a high yearly cost, but if you're a member they give you a discount on ammo that brings the price similar to online plus shipping. It'll really depend on how much I shoot the last few months of the year. I'm almost done building my first AR-15 and will be able to buy pistols next months so I'm expecting to shoot a lot more. Non-steel mosin ammo is like $1 per round and I can only shoot so many .22s. I can't wait to be 21.
>>
>>35031285
Do you do that half-squat shooting stance where you keep your back straight? Most asian guys I've seen at the range who don't own their guns shoot this way. I honestly don't understand it.
>>
>>35031369
The correlation between passing laws against "assault rifles" when most crimes (95%) are committed with snub nose revolvers or cheap glock 9MM/.40S&W clones.

NONE.
>>
>>35031244
At this point, I think they're just trying to egg someone into oswalding Feinstein and her ilk.

These laws are just as useless as those that pre-date them.
>>
>>35031760
Wtf is gonna happen to all those .50 cal ammo cans with 1000rnds of 5.56? A few local ranges sell those. Are they just not allowed to anymore?
>>
>>35031244
Now that I think about it, what happens if you drive across state lines with 10k rds of w/e from another home? I have property in SoCal and in AZ, but the laws pertaining to "transit" have always confused me. I'm worried the concept of "peaceable journey" may not appeal to the average highway patrol cop.
>>
>>35031816
I read somewhere that you're not allowed to enter the state with more than a certain amount of ammunition. I think it was 50 rounds or something, but I'm not sure.
>>
>>35031804
The government want you to get the 200 dollar ammo permit tax.

This shit needs to get sued fast especially since we won the dros overcharging fee lawsuit.

Not hard to see the 500 round limit and the business permit to get fucked by the courts soon, especially since they are now fucking with the NRA's bottom line.

I really think the Chinese are trying to disarm everyone before they mount a land invasion. Sounds crazy, I know, but if you've seen SoCal, 9/10 realtors are Chinese and tacitly only do business with other Chinese. Moreover, we have entire neighborhoods of empty houses owned by, you guessed it, Chinese.

This is also why I don't make my home here.

It's also making buying property incredibly expensive in NorCal, too. I am watching Vancouver to see how their approach to the issue shakes out.

That's because they don't follow gun laws too, but they are all rich and live in white/asian suburbs so they never get their guns searched (or just pull the race card and say they don't understand the police/laws).

>>
>>35031857
>Your an atheist aren't you?
No, but I'm not blind to the fact that it'll likely end up being powerful stories handed down in the end, and it was still for the better because of the connections I've made by going throughout the years. Worst case, non existence will just erase me in the blink of an eye and assuming by some miracle I came back to life, it'd probably be trillions of years in the future when the stars aligned again and gave me a new consciousness.
Plenty of stuff doesn't add up in this world no matter which window you look through. I'm a bit of a science junkie, and while I think the "big bang" theory is possible, I'm not buying it at all either. We need to just accept that there's things that we'll never completely understand and not hide behind convenient answers. There's too many things we try to fit into our narrow human window of understanding, but it's like hammering a square peg through a round hole. I don't think we'll ever grasp what's going on and how it came to be.
There's probably an incredible amount of forces going on around us, but all we're able to perceive are simple rays of energy and a passage of time simulation that our mind manufactures for us.

>>
>>35032045
I'm honestly not sure. Ive just been told by my lgs than the fines and punishments are on a felony level with astronomical fines.... Once they know the actual verbiage of the regulations they'd let me know
>>
>>35031369
We all know that those laws aren't for deterring crime but for chipping away at the 2nd amendment and at this point any law they try to pass and pass is against the 2nd amendment. At this point Californians and Americans in general should be doing something about this. NRA is 5 million members. There's probably 100 million gun owners in this country as well as millions more across the world. If even one third of American Gun Owners all join the NRA we'd all be building sbr's in the middle of downtown San Francisco. I think all gun owners should join nra for life when buying their first gun then we'd also get millions more gun owners to join from foreign countries and our lobbying power would be unstoppable. Think about it.

>>
>>35031244
is it illegal to go out of state to buy ammo?
>>
>>35032131
No basically a Federal Judge in Buffalo struck it down (and the 7 round mag limit) because it was absolutely unreasonable and the state had absolutely no way of trying to execute some sort of "bullet database" to track ammo purchases
>>
>>35032162
Any idiot can figure it out, just make the customer pay for the BG checks with Bloomburg/Soros fronting the setup costs.
>>

>delicious lawsuit inbound.

But damn I REALLY want another progun supreme court judge before any of the awb, magazine limit, ammo lawsuits reach the supreme court.
>>
>>35032344
No I mean they literally didn't have a plan

the Safe act pretty much said "ban all online purchases" while the database was being set up. Judge saw this shit and struck it down and demanded background checks on ammo purchases.

>>35032363
delicious lawsuit was from 2014, the safe act was already a law for about a year when it ruled those few provisions as unconstitutional

Basically you can buy ammo in NY until NY comes up with a state registry/database for ammo purchases to effectively ban online sales
>>
>>35032375
>>35032363
One problem is many suppliers think this is STILL a law in NY and won't ship there despite it being totally legal.
>>
>>35031244
I don't get it.

Why is California such a miserable festering pus oozing would of turbo liberalism? Do right wing Cali citizens not exist?
>>
>>35032410
I imagine that since most of the people in the state live in the cities and are mostly democrats a majority of state senators are democrats and want to out do each other on how anti-gun they can be.

I mean they come up with the most ridiculous laws and shit and STILL get elected. That Senator Yee or what ever his name is was caught selling actual assault rifles to mafias, thugs and all sorts of criminals while basing his entire career and election around gun control and STILL gets elected on the same platform

its fucking ridiculous how corrupt the place is and how stupid voters are.

Same shit with NY, Cuomo had an anti-corruption board dedicated to sniffing out NY corruption. After the Assemblyman Silverstein scandle, they followed the bread crumbs up the trail to many of their own anti-corruption board members and Cuomo immediately shut it down and there hasn't been a corruption board in years.
>>
>>35032449
Similarly in UK where some Green Party member running is the most retarded hippie you could possibly imagine, proposes the most ridiculous green laws and anything not as zealous as him hates the environment.

One Sacramento representative in California passed a law saying that gunshops had to get searched by police when ever they wanted including the gun shop had to record and give all recordings of customer transactions to the police when ever they demanded. When the shop got up and left the rep basically called anyone against the legislation a terrorist

Well the chinamen don't even follow their own laws.

They have shitloads of illegal guns everywhere from their massive as fuck arms industries meaning guns fall off the truck all the time, and their public militia system means armories everywhere. Hell even their gun dealers used to brazenly hand out business cards in the open.

If you are connected or related to someone remotely powerful, in the military, communist party, or businessmen than you can get a gun if you tried.

Because rich businessmen in china actually fuel a good chunk of illegal hunting that takes place, or they go all tacticool and fly to the phillipines to shoot ARs.

I kinda have doubts that the background check thing will ever take effect. The entire law was predicted on a Hillary win. First, that would ensure it would sail past the Supreme Court with her new nominee on it. Second, she'd let the background checks piggyback off of NICS no matter how much it cost the FBI to make it happen. Now the first is a probable no, and the second a definite one - Trump has already told California it can go fuck itself as far as using NICS for ammo checks goes. This means that the already-broke state either has to build out a new, hideously complex and expensive system for this, or it has to secretly hope that a court overturns it, or they just have to delay it indefinitely.

I can't fucking believe this state. Almost 2x the median home price, severe droughts, 80-90 degrees most of the time, rabid liberal berniebros, even fudd guns and ammo are regulated now, the constant risk of a massive 10.1 earthquake or some shit-- Why does everyone want to live here?

You should see the amount of illegal cigarettes in New York. Almost every deli has "special prices" for regulars and there's plenty of blatant headshops that sell Virginia stamped smokes. Hell, I even smuggled some to sell to classmates a few times when I was broke. I imagine it's only got worse since they made it 21 to buy cigarettes.

Some bankers, politicians, and media kikes got together and decided to further their world wide gun ban. New York and California are the focal points in the USA considering those states are densely populated and most cucked.

You can't even blame the Californians and New Yorkers for the blatant acts of war(laws) those groups are waging on freedom and independence.

Frankly. Illegals should not be getting a license for anything at all. Do you know the difference between the words legal and Illegal? I'm for deporting all illegals back to their home country, only difference I think they should be dropped off in their countries capital city and let their government deal with it. When you drop them off across the border you have nothing really because they will come right back like herpes. In their capital city, their government will have to get into their own resources to bus, fly or what ever to get them back to where they came from. Not to mention they will have a large influx of homeless in their own capital and they can also deal with the crime and drain of social services of their own country.

In California, way more than other places, you have to know how to shop around. In the Bay Area, frankly big chains are often the best way to get ammo because they charge big chain prices and you get some economy of scale going. That's why I end up buying most of my ammo at Big 5 or Dick's, and I even have a Dick's Scorecard to rack up those sweet, sweet points (Which do what, I wonder? I never asked).

Sweet San Andreas, hear our prayer....
>>
>>35046543
Not legally possible. When you buy a stripped lower from a dealer it's transferred to you via DROS as a rifle, so it would be illegal to build it into a pistol. There is no exception to this either.

What I recommend is building off an "80%" lower making sure it's compliant with post-bullet button specs. That means something like a Mean arms loader.

"Featurless" pistols are a total legal grey area as far as "pistol" versions of rifles go. I figured this out for shit's and giggles but you could technically build an AR pistol with no handguard, a barrel with the threads cut or perma-welded, and a non-"pistol" grip like a hammer head or monsterman. The thing is your counting on the state using the same definition of "pistol grip" (as laid out in People V Hack and Hack) for both rifles and pistols.

>>
>>35046841
Maybe there's some FTB letter I haven't seen yet but that usually has to do with the number of hands the weapon is "designed and intended" to be held with.

Federally speaking pistols don't have barrel or weight limits, and bracing with your other hand isn't considered converting the gun to "2 handed". Unless there's been a rule change, as long as you don't have a 2nd vertical grip on a "pistol" there's no risk of AOW classification.

Even if that was the case, AOWs are legal in California.
>>
>>35031372
The real problem is cases, primers, and bullets all count as "ammunition". So I'm wondering if you bought 500 of each separately, does that count as 1500 rounds???? And yes I live in CA
>>
>>35047639
Currently cases, primers, and bullets are not covered under the current regulations, only ready to fire ammo.

i still think it was retarded for all these militias to respond to bundy's cry for help, especially considering he was in the wrong.

all that standoff did was show that militias have a hardon for pointing guns at cops and getting their picture on the news.
>>
>>35048954
When you are an armed militia type looking for enemies, you latch onto the smallest of causes like a bunch of random cows inna desert.

I'm curious what they do now that they seem to be facing off against antifa. Especially since the leftist now have armed militias of their own (admit smaller, niche, and less well organized compared to the militias).

Guys like Redneck revolt and the Huey gun club are probably far leftists, but guys like the Pink Pistols (gay group) and Black Guns Matter (black gun owners who like ARs and AKs) ironically have better ties with their right wing counterparts.

It worked though.

The ONLY reason they got arrested was the Oregon militiamen fucking up and letting their leadership leave in a small informant convoy, after telling 100 possible armed sympathizers to go home. So when the oregon militants collapsed the feds got ballsy and arrested another like 11 or so who were isolated at their own houses without guards.

And cliven bundy went full retard to by flying through a federal controlled airport while leaving a last minute call to arms. Instead of calling all the militiamen to drive to the refuge or the nearby town if the feds cut off the road there.

Keep in mind I'm speaking tactical mistakes, not like strategic ones of why fucking bother taking over the refuge in the first place like you mentioned.

im not talking about the park takeover, im talking about the original bundy ranch standoff, where a bunch of militiamen came to the aid of some asshole who refused to pay for years of cattle grazing on public land.

"The leftist" has always had armed militia.
The United States of America was created by them.

That's why your state is fucked. You like progressive values and keep on voting in progressives, so don't be too shocked that those same fuckers now wants to take your rights away.

Does that sound like Southern conservatism to you?

Conservatives protect the right to bear arms.
Liberals protect the rest.
>>
>>35049065
I said left not liberal.

Believe me I would love if we did have a legit liberal party that was really for liberty.

Ironically like what the aussies have. Since their Liberal Democrat Party is literally the most right wing, and one of the very few progun parties they have.

>liberals protects rights
Ahaha maybe old-school liberals. But liberals today wants to shut down free speech because a banana peel nailed to a tree scared them.

Ehh it worked, sometimes stupid ideas pay off.

I'm speaking from a militia standpoint, where they straight up pulled off what they said they were going to do and nocked a victory under their belts. And also managed to get like a thousand supporters under one roof.

Whether or not empowered right wing militants is good for SOCIETY, thats a different conversation. But as a war loving autistic /k/ultist who spends far too much time researching all the thousands of different historical, contemporary, and even proposed (tinfoils and fictional) militaries, paramilitiaries, militias, terrorist groups, vigilantes, rebels, and transnational criminal organizations of all sorts; these american styled militia groups just give me more fodder to autistically analyze and watch for habbenings.

but it doesn't matter because they defended someone who should not have been defended. they just showed everyone who gullible they are.

No one ever said militiamen are smart, they just have numbers and in a few cases the will to use force.

They showed nobody nothing.
We've known this stuff since before the civil war
Anyone smart enough to realize what these guys are about already has
All you got is people who get it and people who will never get it.
