I'm thinking about getting High Point C9 for my bug out bag. I know it's crappy looking and holds very little ammo, but do you think it's reliable enough for a backup gun?

Warranty won't help for a back up gun.
>>

Just get any $300 handgun and save yourself the headache of having to deal with a hi point

These are pretty cheap.
>inb4 somebody says 40 is bad and doesn't give a reason why
It has ammo commonality with most police departments and has higher capacity than a hi point.

>It has ammo commonality with most police departments
Are you sharing ammo with a police department?
>>
>>35027659
That actually looks pretty nice, Also What is wrong with 40?

>ammo commonality with most police departments
Plan on killing a lot of cops are we?
>>
>>35027679
Nothing, it's marginally more powerful than 9 and also panic proof.

I figured since a lot of bug out LARPers (not necessarily you OP) always talk about stocking guns with common parts and ammo that they're talking about getting it from corpses of other preppers and/or police. If shit is that bad it's very likely you'll see police corpses.

A Glock or an M&P 2.0 is probably a better choice. Is money really an issue?
>>
>>35027702
At my current level of knowledge in the subject "Bug out LARPer" might be apt. I basically have a fishing kit, 2 nice-ish fixed blade knives, 4 days of food and some paracord. Working on a gun (Probably something in a 410?) the aforementioned handgun, and the other useful things like a first aid kit or a tent.

I think Hi Points look good. Not b8, not searchung for (you)s, just a genuine fan of their bulky lines. They kinda look like a Buro pistol from Feng Shui.

I'd look at police trade in stuff over a hi point. A Glock, or M&P, or the SIG I posted earlier. I'd feel infinitely more comfortable shooting IDPA matches for practice (which you should do) with one of those. My only experience shooting a hi point was extremely negative, it jammed at least once a magazine, and bug out time isn't the time to call customer service.
