The newer Gen 3s and Gen 4s moved away from the original cyanide-based Tenifer to a EPA friendly shittier nitride process still called "tenifer" informally which produces less toxic waste.

This new DLC coating is applied on top of the original "tenifer", not replacing it.

Nitriding is a metal treatment. This is what actually protects the gun from corrosion. The finish on top is basically just for show (though it probably add protection). You could strip a glock or any other nitrided gun bare and it still wouldn't rust.

Brunitron, Hostile Environment, Nitron, Melanite are all basically the same thing.

Ionbond ceramic coating is actually very wear resistant - far superior to the finish on gen 4s, which would often scratch off after a few presentations from kydex.

I said Tenifer > Nitriding that's informally called "tenifer".

The original cyanide based Tenifer is very durable and well reviewed on Glocks.

After switching to a cyanide-free nitriding on later Gen 3s and Gen 4s for USA production due to a ban on cyanide salt baths like those used for Tenifer, the finish has been negatively compared to the older Gen 3 to Gen 1 finish in terms of wear resistance and overall appearance.

The front of the slide that looks like the 26s do, why didn't they match the frame so it matches the slide too? I am probably just going to get a gen4 mos because there's no gen 5 mos yet and besides the no grooves it's beginning to show more wrong with it than good.

Tennifer and Melonite are both families of ferric nitrocarburizing processes. They are similar processes except one is a salt bath and one is a gas, and both sold by the same company (HEF). The client would specify time, temperature, and chemicals to be used. The EPA are the ones who threw a shitfit about the cyanide usage, so USA made glocks use another chemical. Austrian made ones will still be in the "melonite" family, but use chemicals closer to earlier generations (the cyanide salt bath).

The FNS is the same size as a g17, the g19 is pretty universally considered to be the perfect size for a CC, and an incredibly popular choice. 15 rounds is superior to the 12 in the FNSc and its grip length is the exact same as the FNSc with the pinky extension.

People are different sizes, I'm not a fatshit like you so I can't conceal a g19.

The FNS-9 with the standard mag floorplate has the barrel length of the g19 with the grip length of the g17. With a flat floorplate it's the same size as a g19 with it's mag inserted but you lose a round (still holds more than the g19 though).

I know because I own both and have done this. I don't have a g17 to compare it to but I have a g22, it is not the same size as a g22...

Well, yeah, that's the point. It doesn't pay a lot, but you are still working a retail job, and have to deal with the retail bullshit. If you have to work retail, and you are into guns, it's the best option you have available. I personally make good money, but have no real interest in what I do. I stay very busy though, so the shift flies by. I then get to spend that money buying and shooting guns which is very fuckin sweet.
