My first handgun was a zastava m88a that I got for 180 on sg.

I love it a lot desu. The trigger pull is a little heavy but it's build like a fucking tank and I've never had a misfeed or ftf with it.

Of course the issue is that it's only SA only and 9 rounds of 9mm but I still think it's worth the cost.

I used to have an Astra A75 in .40
It was like a weird cross between a 1911 and a Sig. Was really stout and heavy but QC was severely lacking and the parkerized finish was so poorly done it would get surface rust almost immediately if you didn't keep it wiped down with oil. The SA was nice, the DA was shit. Ergos were good, texture was meh. I couldnt hit anything with it, though I'm fairly convinced the barrel was just shot out.

This. Sure as fuck there's better options than a Hi-Point, but those better options aren't actually better if you can't fucking afford them. The best gun is one that fits well into your budget and your hand and feeds reliably. A Hi-Point is a far fucking cry from the best, but it's also far from the worst anyone could do, and it's so far ahead of "no gun at all" that they aren't even in the same galaxy.
