The LCR in 9mm is fucking awesome. Recoil is snappy but damn them moon clips are amazing and 9mm is cheap and effective.

The LC9s is a better comparison than the LCP. My LCR and LC9s are pretty much the same size. The LCP is a bit smaller and shoots .380 (which is a cucked caliber so make sure you shoot full copper bullets like Underwood Xtreme penetrators). I'd get a s&w bodyguard 380 over the LCP (and I did). The LCP is just a cheapo kel tec tier econo-gun, the s&w has a bit more put into it for around the same price.

I carry a revolver and I'd say the auto is better due to it being only half as thin due to the revolver's cylinder. For actual concealment, definitely the auto. However, if you want magnum rounds to put someone on their ass and if you're a decently big guy, take the revolver.

LCR is a better design. Snubs will always be relevant.
