Ive watched a video on how to do it, but I need an aftermarket .40 barrel
I was recommended EKF, but they havnt made any new ones in forever and old ones are unobtanium.

But to answer your original question about what to do when a gun you want isn't in stock anywhere... Just check Gunbroker from time to time. You'll run into this problem a lot when you're trying to buy any imported gun. Even those Bulgarian Arcus (Hi-Power clones) that were selling for $299 a couple of years ago are nowhere to be found now except on Gunbroker. It just happens with imports. You can't really just sit on your hands and assume they'll keep coming into the country indefinitely.

Me personally, I'm still waiting for that QBZ shotgun that was supposed to be imported by DDI (lol) to actually come to market.

A .40 is what you want. 10mm is a meme and a waste of money.

10mm = 10x25
.40 = 10x22

They shortened it to improve the round, as it was not only causing shit follow up shots but it was actually cracking the frames of guns. With .40 you don't have that issue (unless you get a Glock in which case kaboom). You get an affordable gun, in a reasonable size, and with reasonably priced ammo if you go .40 over 10mm. The 3mm case difference is not that much less, especially considering .40 +P exists and performs literally the same as 10mm.

Check out these exit wounds. Is the slight difference really worth the extra $2-300 you'll pay for the gun and extra $10 per 50 rounds of ammo? Up to you to decide.

.40 +P is nowhere close to full power 10mm. And since many smaller.40s (except USP's) are just rechambered 9mms, they'll get cracked frames and slides with them too. The slide cracking with 10mm only happened to certain guns scaled up for 10mm like 1911s where the manufacuters didn't understand how to reinforce them properly. Anything like a Smith and Wesson 1066/1006 or Bren Ten will handle full power 10mm with ease. Also certain 10mm guns like glocks can shoot .40 too without modification, so the price question doesn't really apply.

Wolf barrels have different mettalurgy and only has more chamber support compared to early glocks. Gen3+ will be significantly better.

Tl;dr: It doesn't headspace off the rim of the case and is held against the breechface by the extractor. It will always be completely encapsulated within the chamber.
