I can totally see rocket ball designs as a competitor to other caseless ammo designs.

Well, the gyrojet was a reliable at what it did so something similar should have some success.

I could see a modern aluminum bullet rocketball design being the new .22 (low cost plinker).

I'd imagine that bullet's cavity would create a lot of drag during flight, probably affecting its range and stopping power, maybe accuracy.

I wonder how much worse the cavity is aerodynamically compared to just a flat base.
