Ive got a design for one that ive been thinking of for a while. Its no small feat to build an effective and safe grenade. And obviously its illegal as hell to make but not to talk about.

Mine design is basically a modified "pipe bomb". Something comfortable in the hand as far as diameter, 2 end caps, one pipe nipple about 1.5" dia x 4 to 6" long. Filled with an effective bursting charge that is tbd. Mine differs in that itll use rebuilt grenade heads for detonation and a sleave of urethane suspended BBs for fragementation retained and protected by a sleeve of pvc over that. If thin walled pvc is used it should be able to size right so that it and the sleeve of BBs are held in place by the pipe end caps. The pipe caps and grenade head should at the least get teflon tape to seal for moisture.

- thermit ? 2g Mg/Sulfur 35/65 for thermit.
with ringpull? redP+KClO3+glue and a string + something like a safe time burner
-> kclo3 + epoxy works fine -> you need something to light it (armstrong wont work)
-> add Sulfur or Magnesium to the solid Armstong mixture or take something to ingnite the propelant like BP .

Explosives are nothing for idiots, you need time and a lot of testing 2 get military grade /k/ stuff

For example : thermit, with fine powders you can build a heat granate, with high temperatur sparks ( kclo4/Mg/glue) or Magnesiumpellets you have something to ingnite a big room.

I'm not OP, but I have recently developed an interest in chemistry. Haven't really done any experiments in real life yet, still getting stuff together for a little lab in my shed, plus I'm delaying it until I have a few bits of safety gear.

But so far, I'm starting to make a list of planned experiments, and I have to pretty much start from scratch because you can't buy shit in Australia, so home making stuff like sulphuric and nitric acid are first, then work my way down a list of basic organic chem reagents.

I don't know enough chemistry to know what I'd really be interested in, so using more ordinary things that you'd associate with chemistry (eg. explosives or drugs) is kind of a vehicle for self-study. It's not like I actually intend on making pipe bombs or meth, but coloured smoke and little rocket engines might be fun.

mix in a glass container that is sitting in an ice bath. stir with a glass rod for 10 minutes. then filter and rinse with cold water. store the powder in a freezer for up to two weeks. avoid shock, spark, flame, or looking at it wrong.

At a minimum, I'd get a fire extinguisher, lab coat, face mask, a few different types of gloves, and lots of ventilation.

I'm planning on actually making like a portable lab on a trolley. I'm gonna try to get some old kitchen cabinets and a laundry tub, weld up a trolley frame and bolt it to the trolley so I have a bench as well as the laundry tub going to a chemical resistant container so if I need to I can dump whatever out into the tub and it'll collect in the container beneath.

Then from the bench level up, I'm going to get some acrylic sheets for a homemade fume hood, with an old kitchen rangehood for ventilation on top.


I've got some of the parts already, thinking about after all that's done, adding a second fire extinguisher or a CO2 canister (homebrew type thing) to an outlet up the top to flood the benchtop chamber in case of emergencies.

Also, I'd recommend keeping a meticulous lab diary and records, so if police do come knocking, you have a record of exactly what you've been doing. Provided you're keeping everything well within the boundaries of the law, of course. All sorts of stuff can trigger a police visit, like in Australia here, ordering glassware from China will do it, but the police are most concerned with drug labs, and despite what that fuckwit other Australian was trying to tell me, there actually are provisions in the law for some /k/ related shit here, get to know your local regulations, hazardous chemical notifications, chemical scheduling, emergency plans, etc.

You want guerilla guided weapon, you get a toy drone or RC airplane and strap explosives to it. Guided missiles are out of range of civilian abilities.

OTOH wireless/RC stuff is easy to make. A wireless doorbell can be made into RC claymore. Rigging RC car controls to drive a real car (plus wifi camera on dashboard) is maybe 2 days for a common mechanic workshop.
