I mean most of the kids now a day wants custom Glocks, Les Baers looks great for a 1911 but most people don't want 1911s.

I am a card carrying glock man and even I have to admit that the 1911 is one of the most aesthetic pistols ever.

My problem with it, and that of most other people who prefer polymer 9s, is its lack of capacity. The trigger is great, the look is great, but in a firefight I'd rather have a glock with twice as many rounds.

The capacity is really the only major flaw with the 1911, it is single stacked but that also comes with it's own benefits as a CC and the steel frame may be "heavy" for some but when im shooting it I know that shit will never blow up and fuck up my hand like a polymer frame could.

Not saying the guys right but theres nothing wrong with wanting some nice tactical looking guns over older simple ones. Im kind of a traditionalist, i love having nice wood furniture and a pretty looking fimish on my guns but I definately dont mind polymer. Glocks are popular because theyre fucking great for a more than fair price. A decent budget 1911 will run you $200 more than a g19.

This. I think it's the perfect size and economics for a concealed carry gun. I'd be happy with a mildly updated model. Better sights, a bit larger manual safety, a drop safety, maybe a slide lock. I'm fine with 380 and 32. If you really wanna go crazy something like 25 or 32NAA would be interesting.

That's honestly what a 9mm Colt 1903 would be. Take a Tokarev, give it a grip safety and reliable manual safety, enclose the hammer with the slide, improve production quality. Thinner and smaller than a 1911 but still all steel. Give it decent sights and I'd carry one.

People always talk about how ugly the Ruger American pistols are but the compact models look sexy as fuck if you ask me. It has the cyberpunk look down with it's hexagonal angles.

When I get a job as a database admin I might pick one up just so I can live out my fantasies. I fingerfucked one at a shop and liked it. My only issue is that the slide is a bit big and bulky for a carry oriented 9mm, but the grip angle felt a lot better than my glock 19.

Cheapest of the cheap is not decent even if they do work (for the most part). A decent budget 1911 is a remington, springfield or ruger 1911s not some cheap ass llama 1911s that dont even interchange with "true" 1911s.
