A always thought it akin to the CZ527 in 7.62x39, a carbine length barrel but still a full length stock.
The short bolt throw of the 7.62x39 allows a decently fast rate of fire.
Also 7.62x39 is very similar to 32acp.

It's literally this. They have a Winchester Model 70 chambered for a rimmed revolver cartridge that has been nearly extinct for the last 20 years. .32 S&W is only chambered in target guns these days. That's just not a thing without rechambering for no real reason. That being said, I guess you could claim creative license.

They used to make inserts for .303, 7.62x54R and 7.7 Jap, (all 3 of which are .311 dia ) these inserts looked like casings with a chamber to take a 32acp at the base and the rest a barrel like hole.
