Not until we change to a new service rifle. Theres only a handful of L85s that arent in MOD ownership, and all of those are owned by defence institutes/research centres etc.

Theres some rating in terms of priority of importance of kit of which your rifle and helmet are at the top, as in if a terrorist group or organisation opposed to the British government got ahold of it it spells big trouble. So until that security rating gets removed, or we change to another rifle, commercially available A1/A2s arent going to happen.

One of my lads was over at pirbright not too long ago and showed me a picture of the top of the buttstock of a rifle that had A3 on it. If they have them at fucking pirbright, where rifles go die via mong, im sure theres a few more kicking around.
