Honestly the most /k/ movie ever made outside of the John Wicks is probably Punisher Warzone

Collateral - the mozambique drill on the tweekers in the alley is a masterclass in practical, precision gun kino.

It's mezmerizing, and it's over in, literally, two seconds.

>tfw you watch zero dark turdy because you're starved for OPERATING with nvgs, lasers and suppressors
I'd even be satisfied with an OPERATOR anime, but no one would greenlight that unless the operators were school girls and they didn't really do operating
>>
>>34988037

I've always wondered; why whack the long haired dudes muzzle down, and to the right, muzzle sweeping the lower torso? Instead of up and to the left? which would seem like a better bet, because it would clear your body quicker, in case they got a shot off.
>>
>>34988072
That raid scene was incredible. I mean, it's the point of the whole movie, and everything has been leading up to it.

Bigelow did a great job. Except it seems to me like they were way too fucking loud?
>>
>>34988098
it clears his body pretty fast but you have a point
>>
>>34988129
I just wish I didn't have to turn up my monitor gamma to max to see what was going on without the night vision cam
>>
>>34988129
Because when you're going to engage your hands are moving down anyways, sure it would be more safe but he was going for speed in this contact
>>
>>34988098
Also he has to draw from under a jjacket so I guess holding onto the assailants pistol helps give him time
>>
>>34988136
Probably so he can apply more force and be in a good position to draw. Pushing to the left with the left arm would be more difficult, and drawing while doing so more awkward, not to mention being less balanced.
>>
>>34988098
>>34988136

I have zero tactical training, but here's my theory:

Yes, up and to the left is safer, BUT, in order to do that, you'd have to cross your left hand to the opposite side of the gunman's arm, and when you bash it away, all of the bashing power is isolated to pretty much your arm only.

Going down and to the right, yes, the muzzle covers your body longer (if only for a split second), but you don't have to cross under the assailants arm, and you can throw your arm, and chest muscles into the slap; much better chance of getting it out of the way, quickly.
>>
>>34988185
this
>>
>>34988169
>>34988185
If you apply a bit of 'push' in addition to slapping the gun down you can push the slide out of battery.
>>
>>34988205
that and keeping his movements closer to his body and lower keeps a lower center of gravity i would imagine

The Last Ship isn't too bad for current tv shows and The Strain has its moments as well

It's actually take longer to clear. He's using the momentum to help push the gun, instead of having to grab and pull

My buddy used to collect the comics when we were at university. We were poor but every time he got a big tip at work or I got some overtime we would buy two super cheap cigars and dirty as fuck whiskey, fill the hipflask, light the cigars and walk down to the comic book store to get the issue he wanted. Then back home to play ace combat and MoH Frontline.

He still has all of the issues in perfect condition and in his collection. Shame they were kind of shit but he liked them.
>>34988411
I like the last ship but it's hit and miss. It's got a lot of cliche tv tropes and the cgi is really fucking bad. However Baldwin is great in it and the ship scenes are great.

Is it worth watching all of these in a block? I have a 12 hour night shift. Worth a watch?

Archer is relatively /k/, the early series are for sure. Decent details on guns too. The more recent seasons have been a somewhat self indulgent jerkoff. I know that a lot of the humor for archer is self referencing but it just feels like zombie simpsons now. More of a "what zany shit can we did with these characters" as opposed to solid writing.

Strike Back is absolutely top tier. First season (called SB Origins in US) features a different cast and is overall slower paced. You should still like it, its only like 6 episodes anyway.
>>
>>34988411
I quite enjoyed The Last Ship. It can feel like a saturday morning cartoon with the brave honorable Americans fighting evil accented baddies, which I think is one of the common complaints about it.

It's a pretty cool apocalypse scenario and it's cool to see the rebuilding and the functioning society as opposed to TWD and the never ending struggle to find food and shelter.
>>
>>34988411
Agreed on The Last Ship and The Strain. When the Nathan James pulls into Baltimore in the Last Ship and finds what Granderson is pulling and lots of Season 3 of the Strain are some of my favorite end of the world kino moments. Jericho had it's moments too.

Oh, forgot to recommend The Odd Angry Shot as well.
Really underrated Vietnam film from the Aussie perspective. Throw it right above Gen Kill on my list.

Death Wish series. No, not that Bruce Willis remake, I'm talking about Charles Bronson's last hurrah. Charles will teach you more about being a man than anyone else in cinema.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1bAqL3moZXw

In fact, not just Death Wish, but watch every later Charles Bronson movie and also everything Chuck Norris did, including Walker Texas Ranger. WATCH. EVERY. EPISODE. It will teach you about being a good Christian man that's not willing to kick ass to defend what's right.

Also, I know it's a silent film (and the highest grossing silent film in history) but this was made not even 10 years after The Great War.

Tbqhwy i've seen all the seasons of Strike Back. If you cringe for gun related inaccuracies, this isnt for you. I often felt they went to retarded places with the plot. Altho the fight scenes are pretty good but still, you will find dumb things. Wouldn't recommend it.

Yeah I dunno, if there TV shows where burgers aren't fighting their natural enemies- evil gommie slavs, sneaky yellow conniving bastards or the dirty sand people; it just doesn't fucking work.
I mean you can throw in the scurrilous double agent white guy every now and then, but it really does need the evil foreigner to make it feel right.

The 100 started out alright for the first 2 seasons, but by season 3 it had fallen into a fucking mess.
The Mist might have some potential, but kind of sitting on the fence with how I feel about it right now
Black Sails wasn't too bad for a serious go at old timey pirates, its really only at its best when cunts are getting stabbed

Aside from that, safe viewing which has had /k type people entertained- Band of Brothers, The Pacific and Generation Kill are kind of no-brainers. The first two have some dubious history behind them but aren't too bad at all. Gen-Kill is kind of my generation as a crazy old veteran so I do have a fair bit of attachment to that era.

Good question, never really noticed that. A point I will add is that possibly going up and left puts his support hand farther from his weapon. But indeed it puts the muzzle of the tweakers weapon passing over his body, much more likely to cause issues with a reactionary trigger jerk.
