So I'm going on HotRod magazine's Drag Week event, and that means a round trip 5,000 mile excursion.
I'll be leaving Cali and driving to Illinois and then Wisconsin, and then back.
What funs should I take with me?
I've got a few options:
1. My 10.5" AR pistol bild
2. M&P Shield
3. Walther P99
Basically something to have with while I drive a hell of a long way, just in case.
Which would you take, /k/?

What car and what class?
If you're CCing, I'd take the shield. If you're not, I'd take the walther.
Take all 3
Also tell Freeburger to wear some fucking shoes.
Bring me with, my ferd doesn't cruise well after 60

>I'll be leaving Cali
Bring them all. Never go back.
>>34982359
prolly gonna CC (wonders of a Utah non-resident permit), so I'm seriously considering the Shield plus a few boxes of ammo.
And I'm running a joke.
It's my '84 Honda Civic hatchback with 60hp when new. It's got 190,000 miles on it right now, with nothing more than a rebuilt carburetor and a glass pack to replace the rusted out stock muffler.
>>34982360
nah man, I'm even more barefoot and sandal laden than he is. Fuck shoes.
>>34982376
My car can barely even reach 65, kek
I legitimately don't have a co driver, since he bailed. If you can find a way to come with, you're more than welcome to ride shotgun. I'm a poor fag though, and plan to camp or sleep in the car, and eat oatmeal and fast food the whole trip.
>>34982384
that's the eventual goal. Either Washington or Idaho.

How's the progress on the s30 going? Haven't seen it in a while. And are y'all passing through Colorado? If so, come to the range with me and you can probably crash on the couch.

I would leave the AR pistol, no doubt some nofuns 5-0 or trooper would confuse it for a rifle. I'd take a single action army and keep it in a holster in the glove box. M&P Shield is compact and perfectly reliable though. Take that one. It even matches the car.
Good luck on the road, OP. Been wanting to do something like Power Tour with my Jeep. Maybe this year.

S30 I just needs an electric fuel pump and a wiring harness and she's done. Then of course door glass, all the seals, etc to make it nice, but to driving I'm only a weekend away.
>>34982622
Prolly gonna leave the AR pistol home period, it's not exactly Cali legal at the moment if you squint hard enough. Should probably stay in my safe.
The other option I have to bring is a Norinco double barrel 12 gauge I can break dowb; I might bring that for the W O L V E R I N E vibe.
>>34982561
that's a beautiful car.
>>34982561
I never realized how lightweight those old hondas were until I had to help push one for a friend. It was like pushing a shopping cart.
>>34983020
Never really thought of it as beautiful, but thanks.
>>34983045
Yup, 1700lbs. A scary joke.

Can he have a handgun in Illinois if it's not locked up and inaccessible? I'm going to check out handgunlaws.us and my copy of Kappas' Travelers' Guide to the Gun Laws of the United States.
>>34985788
I have a lock box I'll be taking, have to have it to transport handguns in Cali anyway.
>>34982292
I wanted to do that in my 66 Chrysler when I had her.
>>34982292
Tell Finnegan I think he's cute.
>>34985984
Why'd you sell it?
>>34986126
It started to need more money than what I could put in it, and I found myself in a wheelchair and needed something that could transport it.
>>34986126
Funny story. I bought it in Indiana and drove it all the way to NC (where I live). Then drove it around for about 6 months until I found out it had the original brakes on it.
>>34986141
I'm sorry to hear that. Will you ever be in a position to get another?
>>34986155
Drums all the way around?
>>34986166
I doubt it, but you never know
>>34986180
Yep. This was in 2011, so 45 year old brakes.
>>34985984
Nice, I want to buy a 70s New Yorker so I can spray paint it black and rip the passenger side door off
>>34986206
Did it stop well, though?

>Washington
No, we have enough californian faggots in this state already. Go shit up Oregon or some other state.
