Sub $500 bucks cant really go wrong with an older 870 before remshit or any mossmeme500 and some 00buck.

out of those, almost anyone is going to tell you the 590a1 is the most durable by far

590A1 is probably the most durable, or at least really close, it's earned that reputation.
Maintenance wise I just strip my 500 when we get home after shooting, rub ballistol everywhere, bore snake through the barrel a few times til the insides look like a smooth mirror, brush everything else with a tooth brush and more ballistol, and then maybe tuck 'er in bed.
When I don't shoot it as much I drop some balllistol in the ejection port and rub it around every now and then, brush it if I need to, rub some more on the surface and put the gun back.

Ithaca model 37. Or, fuck, most old shotguns when taken care of properly. New shotguns are shit and are not fit for cqc. And I guess since we are on that argument sawn off shotguns and the newish super shorty are better suited for cqc if you want a shotgun for home defense.

my model 37 is sticky to pump after you fire a shell
I'm thinking maybe it's a burr, but I can't find any, you have any ideas?

Only one way to find out, have it in pieces and inspect for wear and tear or damage. Could be it needs to be oiled up or parts replaced.
