Nukes can't be magic'd away. But if they could, what would total war look like at home?
Mass internet and media censorship? Encouraged recycling "turn RAW material into WAR material". Gas and food rationing?

>Mass internet and media censorship?
Sure but probably not from the American media.
>Encouraged recycling "turn RAW material into WAR material".
Probably more than normal but I doubt many recycled materials would go to military production.
>Gas and food rationing?
There would undoubtedly be panics everywhere regardless of supply.
>Would the government encourage War Bond purchases?
The average citizens of pretty much all countries possess only a tiny percentage of their wealth these days. It's the fat cats that would get milked and that's why we're not going to see any world wars any time soon.

>Sure but probably not from the American media.

Household aluminium can be recycled and used in the production of aircraft grade aluminium
Low-grade steel and tin can be shunted towards weapons/ammo manufacture
Plastic chewed up and respun into synthetic winter clothing and medical items
Paper recycled into other paper objects
Organic waste compressed and decomposed to make biofuel for logistics trucks
Other misc waste converted to district heating
There's a reason why recyclers in Sweden buy garbage from Finland/Norway/Denmark, run it through the process and make big bucks from it.
