Recommend me books on the Japanese Tactics, Military Tradition and politics during the second world war.
I'm eager to learn about it. There is just something interesting about the contrast between the two cultures and military doctrines that clashed in the pacific theater.
Also, general thread with pictures of pacific theater

Why would that be?
Japanese reverted to Edo-military controls everything mode and went into geopolitics.
Once they had all the easy ones out of the way, they went after China. Problem was, US was also trying to take control of China.
Both sides made an attempt to de-escalate the conflict over China and seeing there was a no way out, sent their freshly brainwashed patriots to fight it out.
Sounds almost every other conflict after the invention of nationalism, if you ask me.

Yeah but you wouldn't have seen American men willingly enlisting to pilot a kamikaze plane.
The whole Bushido stuff is just from another era.

Also, it is interesting how a relatively undeveloped nation like Japan managed to pose a real threat to the most industrialized country on earth.
There is a funny anecdote how the prototype of the Zero fighter that was in many ways superior to it's American counterparts was towed to the airfield for test flights with oxen.
Japan struggled with resources during the entire course of the war but was still able to take over half of the pacific for a few years.
They had to make up for their lack of equipment and men with different tactics and I'd just like to learn more about it.
