After watching Garand Thumb's Eotech vid and considering my options for awhile now, I'm about to pull the trigger on an XPS3. Try to talk me out of it

Honestly I'm not OP. Eotech has some problems with extreme weather conditions like most red dots/holos do. That being said I still love mine, just know the limitations of what you're getting.

Do the newer EOTechs have issues with battery leeching? I had an old 551 for a long time that I liked, but the batteries would die even if I left it off after like 6-8 months.
I don't mind turning the battery off when I'm not using it, but I'd have literally changed my 551's CR123A like 3 times in the 1-year timespan that I've had Aimpoint H-1s since I sold it.
