you can get remshit's pretty cheap and scoped for way less than that. i'd spring for a base model savage and a decent optic. you can get a tikka for around $600, good luck finding a good optic that will fit your budget though.

I have Ruger American in .308 that I got on a trade at a gun show a while back. Didn't have a scope so I used the 300 I had in cash to get an Osprey Optics scope. Talked the dude down from 400 for the scope, sun shade and BDC turret to the 300 cash. Never heard of them before, but they offer a no questions asked lifetime warranty except if it's stolen.

Back on point, I really like my American. First .308 and I don't see a reason to get rid of it.

No milsurp rifles are "dirt cheap" anymore, the Canadian Rangers switched to Tikkas, and new Ruger is actually way better than old Ruger ever was.

Literally a budget Sako.
Not like they're bad rifles, by any means, but the 595/695 models actually felt really premium in comparison, and even used to be more expensive than the Sako 75. I'm really just splitting hairs and raising hell, but I would say that if you mean for the OP to go big or go home, a used 595, 695 or Sako 75 would be "bigger" alternatives than a new plastic fantastic Tikka.
I'm also just screaming personal preference, as I'm looking to buy a stainless/synthetic Sako 75 model V in 375 H&H so, but you really can't go wrong with a rifle made by saunaniggers.

What is a good bolt action rifle in 6.5 swede? I really like the caliber and I'd like to do some precision shooting.
