Can I shoot Buffalo Bore out of a late-70s Model 10-5?
Is it +P rated? If not, I wouldn't risk running really hot stuff out of it.

I have a 10-8 and I don't know if I would risk it

I've shot PDX Defenders out of it which are at like 950 out of a 3.75 inch barrel and it seems to do fine. I know BB is a lot hotter and IDK if I'd be pushing it too much.
I obviously wouldn't be plinking with it, it just needs to not blow up in my hand if I ever had to shoot Cletus for breaking into my house to look for pill money .

don't do it

Yes, you can. Buffalo Bore is hot, but they are usually within the standard pressure limits, and they always tell you when they are not.

+P used to be the standard pressure. Modern standard pressure ammo is weaksauce.

There is no risk. It's all in your mind.

Shut up. You don't know what you're talking about. People like you are how fuddlore gets started.

I'd avoid +P Buffalo Bore personally, but standard pressure BB should be fine.
All post-war S&W's in .38 are fine.

Should be fine as long as your gun is in good condition. Those guns were built to take a beating, as evidenced by the fact that so fucking many of them are still around and shoot great.
I have an old model 15-3 Combat Masterpiece with the adjustable rear sight, it's an absolute dream to shoot.
