I don't know about the Long Ranger, but most lever guns have too long of a lever throw for long detachable mags. That's why Savage 99s, and I assume Henry Long Rangers, have flush fit mags.

I dont think this design would work with a doublestack magazine, levergats technically extract 2 times to feed, once from mag and oncefrom chamber. the mag would have to be single stack or tapered. the action would haveto be redesigned to feed/extract from a doublestack[alternating] magazine

Literally fucking why? The Long Ranger is a hunting rifle, not a combat rifle. If you can't dispatch Bambi to durr heaven with the four shots the Long Ranger gives you, you need to stop hunting and git gud at the range before you go back out into the field. There are too many people on /k/ who think that magazine capacity is an acceptable substitute for being able to reliably hit what you're aiming at. Sorry, but "spray and pray" is the philosophy of use of African child soldiers with rusty AKs, not of first-world low-melanin people with expensive hunting guns.

Like pretty much everyone else on this board, you need to spend less money buying tacticool shit to bolt onto your guns and more money on range fees learning to hit what you're shooting at.

actually, I take it back, my 94's loading gate "technically" could be considered the top round in a mag, It doesn't exactly extract, since the tube mag spring kinda already shoves it into the loading gate,which elevates the round, and the bolt just shoves the round in.
eliminating the elevator could work, I guess, but the bolt would need a redesign and the receiver would need to be lengthened for a bullet guide

Honestly i would love if someone produced a big game version in calibers like .338 lapua, 45-70, or .375 holland.

honestly, Ive hunted with this gun since i was a child and i think its the best manually operated action ever created. It solves all the problems the bolt action and lever actions have.

Although 30-06 is powerful, i justwant something that really gets the juices going.

My grandfather bought it in 1953 and its chambered in .300 savage. Which is on the upper end of intermediate.
