Okay I'm 30mins in and this movie makes no fucking sense. No set up. Just all of a sudden there are guys in all black matching kit running around and killing everything in this one neighborhood of NY(Bushwick). There is some mention of habbenings in other major cities but like I said it makes no sense in any context for an operation to go down like is depicted in this movie. The opening flyover of non-high rise area of NY reinforces my belief that every single person who willingly lives in a city that size is insane. Literally anything systemic goes wrong and you are fucked with no way out but through millions of people just as desperate as you are.

Hard to say. Lots of the GSP comes from larger companies who would probably move if we tried to leave. There's plenty of oil and natural gas, but not enough to support the state. Enough farm land to feed everyone and a large reservoir system, but many of the farms do depend on water from New Mexico and Colorado coming down the Rio Grande.

Plenty of light and some medium manufacturing, but not much heavy. More and more technical jobs are leaving Kalifornia to come to Dallas, Houston, and Austin, so lots of skill there. UT Austin, A&M, and Rice are all very good schools with some excellent research going on.

I think it's possible Texas could become self sufficient, but unlikely it would be anywhere near for at least a decade. And it could go either way depending on all sorts of factors. Call it 30/70 against Texas surviving those first ten years.

I suppose you could reprocess the materials and make a simple gun-type weapon without much trouble. Load it into a container ship and detonate it in a port or something.
