Are hurricane-force winds enough to drown out the sound of a .22lr?
I'm in Texas and the hurricane seems like a good chance to do some shooting since who the fuck is going to stop me?
Just fucking do it. Who's gonna stop you, the hurricane?

>Who's gonna stop you, the hurricane?
I love this place.
>>34969190
So the real question here is how much do hurricane force winds affect the zero of a 10-22 at 100 yards?
>>34969213
I can't remember. I don't hunt hurricanes anymore.
>>34969213
Calculated for Cat3 winds using Remington Thunderbolt info. Wind is a direct headwind.
Drops below supersonic under 50 yards.
>>34969252
How about a 90 degree crosswind?
.22 will bounce off the hurricane's wind.
>>34969260
I modified the inputs to be more realistic to a hurricane in terms of temp and humidity. BP I don't know, but this will give you a good idea.

forgot pic
Again 22 round is a Remington Thunderbolt
>>34969292
3 feet off at 50 yards
5 feet off at 100 yards
>>34969252
>shoot into hurricane force headwind
>hurricane shoots you back
>>34969180
If the wind is loud enough to cover a supersonic crack, you're not going to be outside.

>GF is worried about her car flooding
>Tell her to park it at multilevel parking at the mall
>They have other things to worry about
>Car gets towed
Fuck Corpus Christi, I hope it gets New Orleaned.
>>34969895
Hahahahahahahahahahah, I bet it was sunrise too, get wrekt
>>34969916
It was. Figured there would be no one there to notice.
>>34969948
Ehhh, all it would take is a security guard riding though. I would have waited.
But yeah, I'm down in McAllen right now. Live in Portland. Fuck that shit.
>>34970078
I told her to wait until today, but eh. She's coming down to Kingsville now.
>>34969895
Great idea, unfortunately it didn't pan out.
>>34970163
The shit part was she put it out on Facebook like it was her brilliant idea, and got all her friends' cars towed as well. I got a pretty good chuckle.
>>34969948
You're a fucking idiot.
I live inland - usually the mesquite blocks the wind, but we're also on a flood plain surrounded by cotton and corn fields, so we get flooded as fuck.
I'm not around, but my parents just stocked up on water and food. They plan on not being able to get out for a while as we wait for the caliche road to dry up. Such is ranch life.
>>34970181
>your dumb as fuck
>we live in a flood plain
>we are staying
Wew lad. Wind sucks, but rain will be the real killer for this storm. Two feet of rain. Two feet. If it pools you might not have a house my man. Not that guy btw
>>34969180
Gonna rock you like a Hurricane with .300 Blackout in the streets call The Zoo
>>34970177
haha that's probably what got it towed in the first place. The night guy probably came in and saw a clusterfuck of cars on higher levels
>>34969190
The .22 will bounce around inside the hurricane and kill it
>>34970240
My man, we've been there thirty years. This hurricane won't be as bad as some of the ones we've seen before.
>>34969180
You're in Texas. Why the fuck would you need the acoustic cover of a hurricane to go shooting? I thought y'all were trigger happy as Yosemite Sam down there anyway.
>>34970181
Better an idiot than an orphan, sorry orphananon.
>>34970402
Ackually, it will be.
I'm not hoping for anything buddy, but I live in a flood area too and I got out of dodge. I hope for the best.
>>34970498
Texans have almost no public hunting/shooting. People unironically believe texas is awesome because its all texans can say. They are cucked in general.
>>34970877
It's awesome if you know someone who has land. Chances are if you have at least 3 friends, then someone knows someone who had land.
>>34969318
This came to mind
On my way out of corpus I saw no less than 3 tractor trailers parked loaded down with transformers.
Maybe the meme of electric grid being vulnerable is just that, only a meme....
>>34971446
They just said the projections from AEP we're 3 to 6 days for power restoration. My uncle is on one the crews, I find that estimate to be optimistic.
>>34969895
CCPD and firetrucks and amberlamps are using that elevated parking for their vehicles.
