I'm a UofM student finally moved out of dorms and grandparent's place so I got myself a Walmart O/U. I'm looking for a good and affordable clay range within 2-3 hour drive of Memphis. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated, and I'd love your tips for a first time gun owner.
shameful self bump
Sup I live about 50 minutes from memfrica. The town i grew up in has a nice secluded range called scatter creek. Google will turn up directions. I started to go there after a game and fish warden caught my dad and I about to open up on some snakes over by the st Francis spill way. I'd say from the Memphis bridge to scatter creek would be about a hour and a half drive. It's pretty easy to find.

Thanks for the tip. My parents when they first got married used to live in Paragould before they moved to a little town near Pickwick Dam

Are you just interested in just shooting clay? If you're interested in looking for cheap guns then check out the pawn shops on Gee. Street in Jonesboro. One of them recently got a FUCK HUGE collection of old milsurp rifles. Enfields, mausers, a few beat up garands, mosins and so on. Most of the pawn shops in Jonesboro are pretty decent on prices too. Not sure how your gun stores around Memphis are. That town just makes me nervous now so when I go it's just for a case of yuengling or a grizzles game.

Thanks for the lead. I tend to stick with shotguns because I'm left handed, and that leaves me with buying expensive left handed guns, cowboy guns, or an arm and half a face full of powder. But a cheap rifle would be nice too

I'm a lefty too. To be honest I can't think of many instances where it's hindered my shooting. Apart from those stupid stocks that are made for right handed people. I remember a old tube fed Winchester 22lr that would blow shit in my face, but not much has really stopped me from enjoying a weapon. Bullpups are another story though
