In this thread we discuss how to just wing it and go slowly.

For those who dont know, step 1: find or dig a tunnel.

I found this mineshaft here up in the back country of montana. Note the excellent natural concealment of the entrance.

A totally sweet bun/k/er so needs to be a thing.
>>
>>34967024
Well I mean just throwin it out there, theres MILES of mining system tunnels out here in Montana. All well ventilated, and put through solid bedrock often up to a mile underground.

I mean if we just kinda moved into one and began updating and rendering areas livable who the fuck could stop us?
>>
>>34967024
>implying
We've been planning since April.
>>
>>34967055
What kind of mines are we talking about?
>>
>>34967055
Nah. Looked into it before. Mines are made to get a material and get out. Very few are made to last/are in stone structure that would make it last.
>>
>>34967060
Planned and being done are two separate things.

Gold and silver.
>>34967070
Ive been crawling through these ones. Theyre through solid bedrock. Theres MILES of tunnels. Galleries, vaults, huge caverns. All in solid stone.

Coolest part is the way they cut em through multiple sides of the mountain theres always air blowing through them due to pressure differential on different sides of the mountain.
>>
>>34967074
Very true. Which is why we make so few threads. Announcing things before anything happen is a great way to kill a movement. I'm not here in an official capacity. I'm just saying that, from the looks of things prior, we have a very good chance of doing this thing.

>>34967077
Kentucky most likely. Land is cheap, but we aren't so isolated as to get totally shit on in the logistics part. Plus a less harsh winter.

We need to get on top of this. We can't have a mineshaft gap.
>>
>>34966990
I too like my hearing loss with a side of rockslides. Get a suppressor since you're in Montana and all.
>>34967101
Are the mines all depleted?
>>
>>34967101
PERFECT!
Don't wanna be in a shitty mine.
Make sure you don't really disturb some of that water because it could have potentially harmful gasses dissolved in the water and it can be trapped by surface tension.
>>34967102
EXACTLY!
I feel that everybody wants to do cool shit until it's actually time. That's why I wanna buy some land in the BFE part of Texas and have my friends and I start shit up, then let /k/ommandos come out after it's retard proof.
>>
>>34967182
Some are, some arent. Im getting like.... idk. $150-$200 a day running a 2 inch suction dredge and water pump on an old dried streambed that the original prospectors overlooked.
>>
>>34967190
Let the former aussie get in here. He'll tell you all about it. Then we are here in an official capacity.

We've put a hell of a lot of work into this thing.
>>
>>34967205
What does the dredging yield? Ore? Placer gold dust? You should just make an assload of ingots and go full dwarf mode and make a treasure room.

>>
>>34967231
Buy land
Strip land for timber and clear ground for an above ground base camp
Cut support beams from timber
Slowly and carefully blast into the mountain. We have two mining techs with explosive licenses.

>>34967249
We're making a compound, not a hole.
>>
>>34967219
Well goes like this:
1: the people who own the claim dig up the streambed and wash the ore through a bigass washer. Theyre making a huge fuckin haul, nuggets and flakes, but theyre only getting like 80% of the gold.

2: I come by after them and flood the trench, my dredge floats on pontoons and has a built in air compressor that feeds air through a line to my breathing mask

3: I go in and use the dredge suction hose to suck up all the flakes, dust, and occaisional nugget

4: I give 30% of my take to the guys who dug it up and keep the rest

Sometimes I hit a really really good strip and get an ounce or two in just a day or so, other times I only find an ounce a week.

The guys who found the streambed are making fuckin bank. I own myself a similar claim elsewhere but lack licensing for heavy equipment needed to get at it (gotta remove like 30 feet of clay and dirt before you hit the paydirt) so I kinda just make like 40 or 50 bucks whenever I pan and sluice box it.
>>
>>34967260
Sure you are
>>
>>34967273
So sloppy seconds mining is still profitable? Lucky you. There's nothing where I live here in the central CA foothills. No water, and a bunch of boring ass granite.
>>
>>34967260
Solid plan for constructing a compound.
But when, where, investments, and other fun stuff was more of what I was asking.
My bad.

Lol, not even close. Im in mineral county like 4 miles back from some dirt loggibg road from the 50's thats been grown over and sloughed off.
>>34967303
It can be. Keep in mind im giving 30% of my take to the claim owner and after that I split what I make in half between me and the guy who runs my air on the surface.

Im like 30 feet down in a 15 foot wide trench full of water. I cant see, and kinda need air to not die. Plus it would be crazy easy to just kinda kick a rock in on top of my head and say it was from sloughing.

When you start dealing with large amounts of gold people get stupid and wierd. Generosity and general friendliness is the best policy.

Long as everyone feels like theyre winning things go smoothly. You get even just $200 of yellow in the processor and its like some kinda black magic. Formerly friendly and agreeable folks get mean and greedy.

It doesnt even gotta be that much gold, just as long as its enough to glitter a bit and a certain subset of people immiediatley become untrustworthy.
>>
>>34967456
Interesting looks like the grown over mine entrance by ravalli.
>>
>>34967502
This county here is packed with em. You just gotta get out exploring.

Plus a lot of the hard rock mines here have like 20 to 30 feet of clay at the entrance which collapsed over the entrance so if you dig it out you can still find the tunnel and go in.

Pretty cool stuff down there.

Sorry, I had to sleep.

We have an enlisted former aussie that will be making the largest financial backing. When he is ready to make such a contribution, we will establish a patreon account or something with easy donations to collect from all of us. Then we buy the land and start one summer.

How much land are you planning on buying?

I've looked it up, and land is ridiculously cheap in some parts of America. Like actual proper, arable land that just happens to be in a remote location.

I can understand why people killed entire nations, murdered and enslaved for it. Spooky shit.
