Tell them you are only 18 and after purchasing you learned about the 21 and older law. They might hit you with a bogus restock fee, but that small hit in the pocket is better than showing up to the ffl and having to go through a slower process of this and suffering the public humiliation.

As an FFL holder, don't buy a taurus and let your stepdad walk in with you and fill out the 4473. There is nothing illegal about that. He is purchasing the gun for himself and you are very excited about learning to shoot a handgun. Dress well.

This reminds me of when I tried to get an AK-47 after the assault weapon ban expired.

I was 16 and my state is a cuck state that requires a pistol permit for handguns or 'assault weapons'.
My mother had her permit and I kept standing by her when she was making the deal. I kept asking questions about the gun which spooked spooked the dealer and he refused the sale.
