Why is pistol caliber carbine market so bad?

You can count modern dedicated PCC on fingers of one hand. Sure there are 9mm ARs and conversions for Le Perfection™ Pistol, but for those miss the point of PCC.

This is a 1930s tech, it's literally easiest semi-auto gun to make, so why there is such a limited selection? Also only one that is priced fairly is Hi-point.

I've never actually seen an enumerated list. Would you mind compiling a list of modern PCCs for the thread? Maybe someone will make a chart.
>>
i have a question that didn't get resolved in the thread i posted it in
1. why are "carbine conversion kits" for glocks and stuff sold like it's no big deal, but it's a felony to put a stock on your handgun?
2. do pistol carbines legally count as rifles?
if so, why is no.1 not considered an SBR?

Off the top of my head
>>
>>34962433
They don't sell as well as ARs because Joesixpack doesn't know what they are.

And the ones he does know, like the MP5, vector, Uzi, P90, etc, all cost 1-2 grand.

Hi-point carbines are cheap but ugly and low capacity and the only reason kel-tec keeps their carbines ~$400 is by making less than the market demand.

AR9s are the biggest move in the right direction since it shows American manufacturers using existing tooling to create an affordable and reliable product.

Unfortunately parts kits are expensive to build since you need a new receiver, new/modified bolt to fire from the closed bolt position, and new barrel. Since people don't want to pay $1000 for a 9mm, they're not happening.

Ruger needs to make 10/22 but in 10mm, 5.7, etc...would be great

A carbine in 10mm would be pretty nice

CX4,
CZ Scorpion Evo
Kel-Tec Sub2000,
Hi-point
JR
MP5 clones
Kriss Vector

Rest are conversions/ARs/memes(Calico) or use meme cartridges (.45/5.7x28)

For fun.
>>
>>34962705
AR9s are worng direction imo. Compexity goes against PCC idea. Blowback AR is still AR.
>>
>>34962791
I think you're confused because a blowback AR is actually pretty simple.
>>
>>34962674
Beretta neos is a perfect ex for your question.

Law states that you can convert a pistol to a rifle(I forget why) and also back again. This means that you can put a stock on but you MUST put on a 16" barrel as well, stock on a neos without the 16" barrel is an sbr.

The glock kits like roni and such still require an sbr, rule of thumb is you cannot put a stock on a pistol unless its an sbr or a curio/relic.
>>
>>34962674
The mectek conversion kit has 16+inch barrel and a stock. Some states may have issues with it being an "assault" weapon but federally g2g

Or some sort of actual working .357 semi carbine, 30 round mags, kind of like the one they use to make. Ballistics would be beautiful for CQB. Anons need to start a gun company and produce weapons where these is a demand and no supply.

Which parts do you consider to be overly complex?
>>
I just want a bullpup pistol caliber carbine that sits right at the requirements to be non nfa. 16 inch barrel, 26 OAL. Keep it light weight, maybe some basic sort of delay or locking to make it smooth like MP5s are. Kinda like a P90 in format but proportioned for a 16 inch barrel and not in a meme caliber. 9mm would be great.

I've been asking for the same thing for years. Keltec pls.

Disgusting.
I've already got that angle covered anyway. I'm thinking more affordable, non nfa, relatively compact and light. Something your average scrub can buy or a typical non-hobbiest could use for home defense. Cheap ammo, low recoil, easier to shoot than a handgun. I think it would have a good niche.

How? The MechTech carbine uppers for Glock pistols is literally a tube receiver with a blowback action in it, that you attach onto the frame of a Glock pistol where it uses it as a grip, magwell and FCG, they're very simple weapons.

>This is a 1930s tech
So is the M1 Garand, and it's not cheap either.

>Also only one that is priced fairly is Hi-point.
>fairly
First of, the Hi-Point is priced as it is because it is an extremely cheap weapon by any standards, it is a positively genius design going by budget, a revolution in economy weapons, the Hi-Point is an exception.

>>34962674
>why are "carbine conversion kits" for glocks and stuff sold like it's no big deal, but it's a felony to put a stock on your handgun
Because if you put a long enough barrel on a pistol, 16", it wouldn't be a short barreled rifle.

The ATF has explicitly allowed carbine kits with 16" barrels under the reason that a pistol can be a rifle and then go back to being a pistol, as long as the barrel length remains compliant, but a rifle can not become a pistol.

>>34962791
>>34962948
Wow, you're a fucking dumbass.

It's quite literally a blowback action like any other except there's a buffer in the back.
It removes the rotating bolt in place for a blowback one, the gas system is deleted, etc, some even have tailor made receivers for pistol magazines and subgun magazines for less weight and parts.
There's nothing complex about it, unless you're perplexed by a bolt release and safety selector.
