Fuck off, faggot.
>>34951688
I understand the irony. We have to work with what we have in the land of the free. It's not like the Czech Republic where I can just go to my local gun store and come home with an unmolested full auto Tula krink. Cyst lavee.
Considering making an AK105 clone to go with the 104 alpha. How dead is 5.45 and can you still find 7n6?
>>34951666
Nice trips satan
>>34951666
>After this lengthy discussion, you should have know that this thing is not a Kalashnikov

Your kit is really making me consider JBI instead of BR for this kit, he did an amazing job with a great attention to detail
Also talk me out of spending ~$120 on a great Messerschmitt BF109 model shipped from France
>>34951720
Just busting your balls man, nice guns.
>>34951688

Congrats on the kit chimps, very nice.
>>34951666
>no refurbs allowed
o hay
>>34951666
Did JBI ding up the right side of the reciever? That finish looked really weird.
Congrats though. I'm currently in the process of trying to reorganize my convertible gun locker so I can have gun storage on both sides and give my '83 kit more breathing room instead of having it propped against my Mosin and PTR91, using its sling as a buffer to protect its finish.
>>34951749
>buying model planes
Anon, I...
>>34951666
Continuing from last thread. Looks great man. Enjoy it.
>>34952061
What are those for?
>>34952054
No bully
I started with planes as a kid then got really into Gunpla. This is my first model anything I've bought in like a decade, I got rid of all my models other than a few Gundams and a 1:32 scale F4U Corsair but they're all at my parents' house. I just really love BF109s and wanted a nice model of my favorite plane to put on my bookshelf
>>34952107
You have good taste in planes.
Do you like my sporter rpk guys?
Got a tulpan yesterday, it's awesome.

Nice, my mag lel.

>>34952200
Wipe that tape residue or whatever off the side.
>>34952244
Cracks/scratches on the mag, not residue.
>>34952244
NM the rifle, yup some gunk there!
Wat do if i can't unscrew PG, screwdriver warped, another just shattered. Don't wanna just cut it oof yet.
>>34952332

>>34952351
What part of my problem you don't understand nigga?
>>34952189
>>34952196
I like mine too.
Where are you from? That's certainly not making into the US last I checked.
Also, I wish I had that vepr12 style safety on all my aks. Not really a fan of how the bakelite mag looks on it though, but to each their own. I don't like mismatched bakelite on any polymer ak I see.
>>34952405
It's a screw, you just undo it? Are you accidentally tightening it? wtf

Pretty much, had my first day of classes this morning and came home in time to sign for it, didn't go to work
Shot it a while ago. Only about 50 rounds.
Anyone have a source on quality milled AK 74 receivers?
If such is unavailable, what's the best stamped receivers out there right now? I'd rather not spend the money on tooling for the rivets though...
>>34953021
try to find them for cheaper
>>34953108
Why would you want a milled 74?
>>34953128
They're fairly easily available for $55-$65.
>>34953227
>Why would you want a milled 74?
Not interested in accurate reproductions.
>>34953236
>Not interested in accurate reproductions.
But what is your reasoning for milled instead of stamped?
>>34953246
>But what is your reasoning for milled instead of stamped?
Avoiding having to buy tooling for rivets, mostly.
My inner hipster is somewhere a distant second.
>>34953246
Bulgaria made/makes milled 74s and 5.56, so it's not unheard of
>>34953276
Do you already have the other tools necessary for building an AK?
>>34953227
>Slab mags
>available for $55
I call bullshit. Link me
>>34953304
>Do you already have the other tools necessary for building an AK?
Excluding headspace gauge, yes.
>have money set aside for AUG
>gonna buy one soon

>at least $200 from the AUG fund to replace it
RRREEEEEE WHY DOES EVERYTHING KEEP GOING WRONG WHEN IT COMES TO MY DESIRE FOR AN AUG
>>34953418
>tfw all these AUG mags and still no AUG
I might break down and buy an M1 tonight instead of waiting for the other model the site said they had in stock. I think it's on permanent backorder and they aren't telling me that

>>34952849
those Rivets look like shit.
>>34953438
I finally got FFL info from the guy who bought my FAL so once I cash his money order I'm going to buy one, probably by the end of the week. I'm back to being on the fence between the A3 and M1 though, I like the look of the A3 but I like all the modularity of the rail on the M1
>>34953463
I've had to pass up so much stuff on the Files to save for my AUG and it makes me sad thinking about what I've missed out on
>>34953489
How can you tell from that one shitty pic? It's definitely an Egyptian mag
how was it delivered direct to you and not an FFL?
>>34953515
>How can you tell from that one shitty pic? It's definitely an Egyptian mag
the ribs are far different then the right one which is definitely egyptian, egyptian mags have big fat ribs, the one on the left looks hungarian.
>>34953522
>send receiver to gunsmith
>he sends it back
>>34953515
I haven't seen a whole lot I want on the files desu, a bit on FALFiles maybe but for the most part everything I want is either a 2k kit or direct source slavshit
At least my FAL will finally have a use for all these rails
Two rivers vs JBI?
>>34953515
If you can find an A3 with the full rail let me know. All I can find are M1s
>>34953528
It's just the lighting in that pic, I've got a bright kitchen light above them and sunlight coming in from he left of the pic. It has all the signs of an Egyptian mag when handling it and looking it over in person
>>34953550
A few weeks ago I had my eye on a couple from different sites that were still in stock but last night I was looking and everything is out of stock
>>34953545
two rivers is the gold standard for kits, while remaining not gucci tier, JBI has problems
>>34953565
>place i was looking at getting one increased price by $200 for no reason
>>34951666
Nice wasr
>it's so beautiful
>>34953493
I don't entirely disagree
>>34953522
I had already received the FFL transfer for the receiver, technically all I sent it to JBI for was the rivet work, then it's sent back to me. If it's just gunsmithing work then I don't have to do a second FFL transfer which means it can go straight to me.
>>34953702
Thanks, feels good to finally have something come together
>>34953769
The rivets make it more authentic
>>34953769
Why do amerilards can't rivet? Lack of upper body strength?
>>34953778
Nah they're pressed fine, my complaint is more about the very round shape of them
Who put this disgusting Capitalist scope on my AK?
>>34954509

Not torrenting anything, it's just my ISP sucks COX.
>>34955380
i know at least 4 people that complained constantly about poor connectivity in games, not realizing that their torrents were eating their bandwidth. always worth mentioning
hope you don't have comcast
>>34955296
Did you make a house out of pallets?
>>34952804
hey guys I just bought 5 romanian mags and EVERY single one of them is sticking in my WASR. They lock in just fine, no wobble and great feeding but getting them out requires a mallet.
Is there any quick trick to getting them smooth?
>>34955405
Yeah, torrenting is 2risky4me anyway. The potential of blindly downloading some malicious shit is too high for me, so I actually pay for things but I usually do my research and never buy anything in alpha or beta OR on first release unless it's some shit that's been in beta for a year or more and is some indie trash like The Long Dark.
>>34955435
is your mag catch resetting to the rearmost position when you insert the mag, or does it get stuck halfway?
>>34953877
Should of bought the rivets online. He uses AK builder ones.
>>34955442
Just check the file extensions before you download, unless you're torrenting licensed programs or video games in which case good luck
>>34955435
It doesn't look like your magazine catch was cleared by the rear locking lug.
>>34955470
I'll just pass and stick with being a good goy.
>>34955457
>>34955473
it goes all the way in and clicks, it just doesn't want to release them
it actually might not have been fully inserted in that pic but that was just a photo op with an empty mag at the range today
>>34955491
Ok, good to clear that up. Does it work with other mags?
>>34955501
I have a shitty Pmag that works perfectly
>>34955542
Take a look at the top of the mag catch (small surface that interfaces with rear locking lug on mag when mag is fully seated) and see if you spot any burrs.
Also look at the bottom of the rear locking lug to see if you find any substantial scratches. If you can't tell, put some sharpie on the lug and work it in and out a few times, let me know what you see.
>>34955406
yes
>>34955582
I'm not really sure what I'm looking for..
>>34955718
See on the leftmost mag where the finish is wearing off from the lug? Watch as you seat the mag and see if it appears to bind on that area.
If the mags are indeed your problem you could file down that surface until it fits smoothly. Be careful and don't remove any more than you need. Ideally it would just work but it appears that either your catch or your mags are out of spec.
Sometimes when the catch is being picky you can remove the mags cleanly by pushing forward on the catch and not touching the mag at all. This is more of a temporary solution of course.
>>34955763
looks like it's catching right in here and not allowing the mag release to move at all until it's bashed open
so you think I should file it down?
>>34955828
Yeah, just a bit at a time until it works properly. File the whole surface evenly with a flat file.
>>34955854
it looks like it's getting the corner, should I get the part that's pointing up in the photo or the part that's laying flat?
>>34955872
You could even out that corner too, no harm in it. Just be conservative, try to remove as little as you can.
Had to remove almost a mm of steel from the selector stop plate and receiver to get anything other than my translucent green and prototype aluminum to fit. Took me like 45 minutes going slow and testing the fit. Using a sharpie to see where the contact points were. It was nowhere near where it needed to be.
>>34956302
Shitty
>>34956302
Out of spec receivers, nodak or something
>>34956356
You said it
>>34956506
Lel
But really I think that may have been the case. The trigger guard rivet holes were pre-drilled and the selector stop plate lined up perfectly with the receiver. Now it's true that JBI had to drill the rivet holes for the front trunnion and there's a chance he drilled them too far rearward. But the front trunnion terminates pretty much where the front of the receiver terminates. I dunno
>>34956541
Better a hair tight then loose in my book.
>>34956541
F for ur receiver
Also just snagged an RPK drop case, how horrible are these for transport?
>>34956302
>>34956541
Is that your '69 that you just got back?
>>34956564
Well it's at the perfect tightness now because I went so slow testing with different mags
>>34956569
I only have an AKSU drop case, it's cool because you can still use the sling while it's inside. Not useful for a whole lot
>>34956589
Aye
>>34956569
drop cases are great
the next thread should be didicated to all the mag

shit, dedicated to all the magazine pouches and magazines and other gear sitting in cold dark warehouses in russia, hopfully they can one day see the light of day and be used and loved by those who appreciate them
i dont know whey they modernized and make new stuff when surplus is still good
>>34956800
I just bought one to go with my soon ukieshit larp, I've seen a few excellent lowprofile setups where it's just clothes and a pouch and I dig it
>>34956822
2 four cell mag pouches on a belt, with suspenders would be absolutely fine for a SHTF rig, you would be able to lay completely flat as well.
>>34956839
I don't have enough mags to justify two. I shoulda spent the money on an FAL rig but oh well
>>34951723

I did some filing on the worst mag out of the bunch, it had a slight wobble on it before I started but would still lock up the mag release.
After I filed a bit of material off it releases perfectly, still wobbles a little but but I didn't expect to fix that.
Now, what do I do about this exposed metal?

just bought a tws gen 2 rail for my sgl-31 which already has a zenit b-10m and vltor stock adapter
going for the spetnaz look, how bad did i fuck up ?
>>34957903
Incredibly since you coulda bought a Zenit cover that absolutely BTFO the TWS in every respect
>>34957895
What actually is wrong with magpul? is it just all cheap garbage?
>>34957991
It's uggo, and isn't kosher slav. That's pretty much it desu, not really bad just that there's better options, cause for the people who leave it bare you could just stick with classic handguards and if you want attachments many companies have better products for it
>>34958053
so its all personal opinion?
>>34957920
i know but i paid 75$ vs 300$ and i have seen russian forces with the tws
>>34958149
their mags suck cock, their furniture is okay but in my opinion hideous, just like tapco magazines, work okay but look disgusting
>>34958149
If you're running it dry, yes, if you actually want to attach things, then it's not as good
>>34958184
Russians also use sightmark, utg, and shit like that too
>>34958212
they have pretty good review tho, and the gen 3 appears to be almost as good as zenit, also spetnaz use them so they have to at least hold zero
>>34958237
Fieldsport has a ton of 5 star reviews too, just open their amazon page
Unless TWS has added a second point of contact like Zenit has it will eventually lose zero, there's just nothing to keep it from moving. The degree of shift could very well be small enough to not notice but still. If it were me I'd just grab a zenit. You can grab one secondhand or off AKstuff, I wanna say he has em for 250-300 I don't remember which

>>34957653

Too pigfat and tall for an AK.
>>34958638
They dont work on AKs. Theyre meant for AR height.
Ruskies like their chin weld though.
>>34958643
I'm talking ak operator aesthetic. A lot of them use eotechs
>>34958674
Ruskies now use there own proprietary eotech ripoff
>>34958680
That's not what proprietary means
>>34958670

>>34958705
>>34958674
>>34958643
>>34958595
After a recent parallax shift test I think a good reason the Russians prefer eotechs could be that the eotech has 0 parallax shift compared to aimpoints which all experienced some amount, the T2 was pretty low but T1 had up to 9moa IIRC, so using them with basically no cheek/chin weld they're still accurately aiming despite their head being all over the place. It'd make sense since slavs seem to prefer very high or non existant welds while western militaries have always been about getting as far down and forward on the gun as possible

and i dont think russians thought about it that much. But you are right that it seems good for the russian mindset of high cheek welds (remember bulletproof helmets, we airsoft now)
>>34958766
It's a pain to deal with on mobile, oh well
I've seen aimpoints over there so even without intentional testing it's possible that the guys with dots were going "wtf my aim is all over the place" and guys with eotechs go "mine isn't use this". Or maybe I'm overthinking it, which is an entire possibilty
Also MTP at Ukraine parade

This dude just intrigued the fuck out of me. US inspired uniform style but ratnik style elbow pads and gloves. Also his harness too was cool as fuck
>>34958870
*and oakley gloves
HE KNOCKED HIS BERET OFF
THIS DUDE'S FUCKIN FACE LMAO
I hate these ukie bastards but i watch it anyway
this fat bastard probably drinks his canteen in 1 goddamn sip
serving size is supposed to be several and small sips this bastards says serving size 1 son of a bitch
Holy shit every American dude is gonna get smoked, they looked like absolute garbage
its over already that was fast.
>>34958954
I'm kinda glad, watching on mobile is shit. I need to screencap it all again when I get home so it's not potato quality. Lot of interesting things to see tho, like the Ukie tavors and 7.62x39 ARs
Also these guys wearing US style officers belts
>>34958975
I heard that ukraine was going to stop using 5.45x39 and go to m16s in 7.62x39 or something who really knows what they are up to
>>34958985
They're using both, the idea with the ARs and Tavors is that the US and best ally is giving them tooling to make rifles now but in calibers that they have shittons of soviet surplus in, then when that starts to dwindle in 20 years they can take the existing rifles and rebarrel them to 5.56
>>34958999
oh ok thats pretty smart and cheap of them thank you for helping me
>>34959008
No problem. And it would work fairly well except for Ukraine can't keep up production worth a shit. Every image I see of Ukrainian forces they're still using AKs. I've found a single picture of a Tavor in a combat zone but not a single WAC47. My guess is right now they're only being used for parades and other forms of showmanship till they can make enough to arm a meaningful amount of people with them and have enough mags to boot, since along with that soviet ammo they're drowning in Russian AK mags
>>34952849
Your parents have some nice stuff.
>>34958948
The US doesn't do parades.
>>34958999
7.62x39mm ar's will suck ass almost as much as jewkraine does
>>34959065
Man, you don't sound bitter at all
>>34958948
why the fuck are they even over their? i guess greatest ally wants east europe pozzed too now
>>34959077
The fuck we do. Shit sucks ass.
At least in the muhreens we did on occasion. Usually only for big events like when Generals change command or when disbanding units. Still looked like ass, we gots other equally stupid shits to do.
Shit was on point in Boot Camp though.
>>34959077
>>34959088
Whatever the reason they loked absolutely disgusting. Canada, Poland, Estonia, the UK, and a few others were there too
>>34959083
Yea the WAC47 is a pretty shit project desu, but that's the bitch NATO is
https://www.irishtimes.com/news/world/europe/us-deepens-military-ties-with-ukraine-in-effort-to-end-conflict-1.3196068
>>34959098
civilian ar's in 7.62x39mm never work properly because of mag issues and the bolt goes after about 1000 rounds, due to having to be thinner to accept the cartridge
>>34957317
You don't have to do anything in particular, just oil it a bit. Whatever finish is on that area will wear off over time.
>>34959065
And zero debt. They're very admirable
>buy ammo on gunbroker
>company selling requests photo ID and an legally useless signed statement to not hold them responsible for any damages caused by said ammo
who sort of cuckoldry is this
>Wee look at me, I'm a vatnik now!
>tfw no sweaty-wall falling- AK-74M wielding Anna to fugg
Also I can't be the only one who sees a slight resemblance to Gianna Michaels here, right?
How are these Bulgy 7.62 mags compared to other polymer ones?
>>34959600
Why are you buying ammo on gunbroker in the first place?
>>34959977
they are okay for range use, not really mil grade mags, but better than shit like crapcos, fagpuls and proshits
>>34960124
The rivets are too clean and the mismatched finish looks like shit. Yikes.
>>34960046
Is there a good polymer option like the ak74 has or is 7.62 only good with steel mags?
>>34960124
You're right handed but left eye dominant, correct? Do you shoot pistols left handed still too or right handed and just use your left eye?
>>34960164
AK103 mags
>>34960155
You can't see the rivets worth a damn in that pic. You can do better
>>34960177
Correct, I shoot pistols with my right hand
Need akg's opinion
I myself built a 5.45 ak on a Nodak receiver on a Bulgy kit, it has the original barrel but the rear sight is canted all the way to the trunnion ears.
A friend wants to trade me his wasr low count count, comes with a drum and a couple steel mags and ammo.
Would it be worth it?
>>34960177
>$80/piece
Nope ill stick to steel
>>34960180
>You can't see the rivets worth a damn in that pic. You can do better
You can see that they're shiny and round.
>>34960207
They are, and it bugs me. It's just not as accentuated in that pic as you're trying to play it up to be, in your attempt to make me feel bad about my new toy.
>>34960218
>dat persecution complex
Are you some sort of Yid?
>>34960225
>:(
>>34960261
You'll lament it soon enough on your own anyway. That's what happens.

>>34960727
Looks good dude. Was keeping the original paint on most of the parts worth the humiliation?
I can now safely say that Lee Armory is the shit.
own two of their rifles now, and the build quality is top notch. And none of that exploding or mushrooming nonsense that is common with other american AK's.
10/10 would drunk buy again.
I can't stand how G2 triggers feel. Its too fat for me.
Retard question, I am very inexperienced in the realm of AK Pattern rifles. Are AKM triggers and AK74 triggers interchangeable?
>>34960957
$725 for the kit ($625 plus a $100 hand select fee)
$200 74ULLC receiver
I think like $500 for JBI's services
But I doubt there is anybody out there right now that would be willing to pay enough for me to give it up. It has more value to me than it has actual market value.
>>34961060
>humiliation
?
>>34961172
>Are AKM triggers and AK74 triggers interchangeable?
yes
>>34961132
>I'm a fucking retard that can't distinguish between parts kit builds and "American made" rifles
You deserve everything that's coming to you.
>>34961132
How many rounds do you have through them? Just because a rifle looks good doesn't mean it's built to last. Plus Lee Armory is a shady rat bastard of a company who snitches on people to the ATF, fuck giving them any business.
Is a Beryl worth $1500? Would I be crazy to buy one for that much?
>>34961172
Yeah, generally. On select fire rifles, there's a few design differences between the AKM and AK-74 hammers for example. If you try and put a milspec AK (like Type III milled) in an AK-74, you can run into issues.
>>34961202
That's how much they go for now, that haven't been imported in a few years and not very many were brought in
>>34961202
That's the going rate now unfortunately. I love mine. I'd rather have it than an Arsenal.
>>34961202
>US.mil is dumping 5.56
DEAD CALIBER, AMERISHITS BTFO
>>34961200
2k through this one, 3-4k ish through another. no problems or anything abnormal in the internals.
>>34961196
you know exactly what I meant, you shit. neck yourself
>>34961228
>>34961215
I guess I need to save a couple of weeks and pony up for one. I have two 106s but want a Beryl bad.
>>34961247
What, that a parts kit rifle that didn't use the barrel as a bucking bar and was headspaced well enough hasn't exploded?
>>34961273
>I'm assblasted that a $500 u.s gun is on par with my unobtanium slav rifles that I spent a small fortune on
>>34961303

Lel.
>>34961269
I genuinely regret not getting one. When they were available I had no interest in a 5.56 AK and sure enough once they were gone I started really wanting one
Great deal everyone!

>>34961269
They're really neat. I'm glad I found mine when I did.
http://texasguntrader.com/index.php?a=2&b=1054498
Actually decent deal Ft. Worth.
900rnds 7.62 + 10x Magpul & 3x Euro steel mags. Sell the mags and have the ammo for around $120 or less.
>>34961349
>30 rond ammo clip, extra clip and 520 rounds of 762 39 ammo
I keked
>>34961359
Do those Polish rails hold zero?
>>34961349
>(((polish))) blueprints
>>34961380
I haven't really used an optic on mine but they're rock solid and the military uses them so I would assume so.
>>34961182
It's probably that same anon who posts the "laughing pointing man.jpg" reaction image any time someone here gets a kit built, since it's an "American-made" AK to him and thus worthy of derision.
>>34961359
Does it use a narrow stem bolt like a Saiga or a wide one like a 106? Do you have any photos of it taken down?
>>34961303
>US gun
>isn't actually American made
There used to be a time in this country where when people said "American made", they didn't just mean "American assembled".
>>34961420
This is the only one I have on hand but I'm sitting right next to it and my saiga. Want any specific pics?

Want any specific pics?
Nice. Take a closer snap of the bolt if you can.
>>34961548

>>34961558
>>34961370

>>34961425
He probably thinks that he "built" his AR too.
