The gun industry has been taken over by commercialism. I don't mind a little product placement, but the gun magazines do so much shilling you can't even tell the articles from the ads anymore. They tell us we can't use our good old soft points anymore. Instead, they expect us to pay twice as much for some fancy "premium" bullets with plastic tips in them and funny colored coatings on the jackets and brass. They tell us our old calibers aren't good enough and we have to buy new rifles chambered in some freakish new magnum cartridge.
Gaht dammit OP yer right! And I bet it's got somethin to do with that gay agenda keep pushin. Why back in my day...

Your stupid or new if you think that is a recent development, or bad in general.

I never said it was new. Yes, it's been going on for a long time, but it IS a function of time. Every year brings us new gadgets, but most of them either serve no purpose or fail to serve them better than what we already had. This is especially so with cartridges. 7mm Mauser is older than any smokeless American cartridge, and it has killed every species that walks or crawls, including African bull elephants, so the idea that you need some magnum cartridge to hunt deer sounds preposterous indeed.
The shilling is strong.

Every industry is full of folks trying to make money, and that's not a bad thing, but in the gun industry, the customers have become the salesmen.
