The first gun I ever bought when I turned 18 was a mossberg 500 set up pretty similar to that. The more I used it, the more I realized the pistol grip is a retarded idea on a mossberg. With a traditional stock, the safety is in the perfect place. With a pistol grip you have to move your hand really awkwardly or use your offhand to switch it on and off safe. Ditch the pistol grip, and I'll have few complaints.

The sights work surprisingly well, and the stock in conjunction with the pistol grip padding manage felt recoil pretty well. It's easy to stay on target just keep it pulled in tight.
