I'm pretty sure it would just be shiny black if you don't get all the way through the tenifer outer layer. Might actually be ool looking that way.

If you do polish all the way through the tenifer to bare untreated metal it will probably rust easy as fuck.

Or you could just have it chrome plated.

Because it will rust. If you have no finish whatsoever on bare steel it will rust in a day or two. Don't polish bluing or coating unless you plan on replacing it with something else.

This kind of thing is for a show gun that you probably wouldn't use much. Once you polish it like that, you make it completely unfit for actual combat.

Polishing it so smoothly removes what little traction you CAN get from a matte blued finish. Even with the rear slide serrations still intact, you're making your chance of failure MUCH higher if you need to rack the slide (condition 3 carry or responding to malfunction) especially if your hand has sweat or blood on it.

On top of that, the reflective surface will cause problems with light, either because it's reflecting into your eyes during the daytime or giving away your position at night.

So by all means, if you want to shit up your Glock and make it a toy, then go for it. Otherwise, leave it alone.

It was a popular thing a few years ago to just polish a stock glock slide at home. Or 'professionals' that you could send it to. Hard to tell in that picture, but you weren't really able to polish in the serration grooves so they remained black. That's how you'd be able to tell the difference between a polished and plated slide.
