I'd love to find a heavy-ass solid brass or solid steel mini maglite, but I doubt anyone has ever made such a thing. Or at least I doubt there's anything fitting that description commercially available. But can anyone recommend a particularly good weapon flashlight? One that ran on AA batteries would be best. I'm mainly looking for something that's a good fist load or gouging device, but just has ordinary, regular flashlight capabilities. It doesn't have to be blindingly bright or anything, just a vicious improvised weapon that I can legally carry.
Pic is random and not necessarily related.

Oh damn sorry. I meant to write

Remember to keep it tactical.
I like my Dark Energy 06 by SOG. Extremely sturdy and feels really solid. Its aluminum and I'd definitely use it as a weapon if i had to. I'm sure the cheaper models are similarly sturdy though
Surefire E2D defender was probably the first light to incorporate such a feature. Uses CR123 batteries and is expensive though.

Please keep it exclusively to tactical Felchlights or Anal Plugs.
Thank you

Companies like Terralux and Malkoff sell LED dropins for any old incandescent Maglites you have laying around (Maglite's own LED flashlights are pretty underpowered).
Bumping for curiosity. Can't carry since I got stationed in Hawaii, I want SOMETHING to use if shit goes down.
most flashlights are aluminum. There are some brass ones (usually for the EDC nerds, copper/brass is a fad right now) but I don't know any off the top of my head. The weight comes from the batteries. Aluminum is still strong enough to connect with a skull though.
In regards to smacking people
Really small 1x AA is a little too short for a fist full.
Oversize 1x AA are great fist sizes - like a Fenix LD12, Nitecore MT1A, or Streamlight 88061 (this last one is actually 1xAA or 1xCR123A).
Slim 2xCR123A lights is another good fist size. I like these because they're bright as fuck. I have a FourSeven QS2L-X. Don't get one with an oversized head though, they get too big for pockets.
2xAA is fine for smacking but it gets long for the pocket.
FYI the crenelated bezel on tactical flashlights will wear a hold in your pocket.
