Poorfag here. Are there any red dot 1x magnification optics that take AA batteries and will cowitness with front post milspec AR irons? Comp M4 looks perfect but I'm looking for something cheaper like under $400
>>
OP I don't know shit about optics or if this has any of the features you desire but I have heard good things about the Bushnell TR25. That's about all I can offer to this conversation

Pretty sure the new vortex red dot does exactly what you mentioned op.

I wanna say it's called the sparc but, I simply can't be assed to go look during my morning shit
>>
>>34930854
SPARC AR just looked it up thanks.
>>
>>34930819
i have bushnell
it is decent and holds a zero on my ar
doesnt run off of aa though, uses cr2032

The unconditional lifetime warranty with vortex is something to consider too. That's why I mostly go with them for optics.

Buy 40$ airshit from amazon, it's good enough by now.

DI Optical RV1. South Korean military optics maker. These are one of the red dots the South Korean military. The US military uses their red dots for their 50 cals.

Pretty much a copy of the Aimpoint pattern. Built like a tank and goes for about the $220 range.

Only real downsides are that they're heavy and their co-witness is somewhere between absolute and 1/3 I think. There's an A.R.M.S. mount these fit that brings the co-witness down a smidge but still not quite co-witness.

Vortex strikefire 2
Palmetto has(had) it "on sale" for 180 with 10 pmags free.

You can generally find it for 180 online though
>>
>>34930834
Or he could get a used CompM4 for the same amount and not have a shitty optic.
>>
>>34931074
The only things I don't like about my 512 are battery life, which is ok enough, and the fact that there is no way to disable the auto shutoff.

>tfw got legit Comp M4 for 150€ last year
shit's great
>>
>>34930799
Vortex ar red dot takes AAA and does that i cant remdmber the price
>>
>>34930799
cheapest you should go with red dot is anything made by Primary Arms. Comp m4 is a good red dot though. I wouldnt worry too much about batteries when it comes to aimpoints, they literally last hundreds of thousands of hours. I have a T2 that has a spare battery in the cap and im not too worried about it.

>milspec AR irons

pointless usage of a buzzword. Is your AR military style? This is important.
>>
Holosun is pretty decent for the money, found a 200$ one on sale for about 120$. Have a good 500 rounds on mine without any shift in zero set for the 50 yard zero. Boasts about like two- three battery life left on the medium setting nonstop iirc. There's a few different types with different style dots too so that's neat. Customer service is also pretty decent from what I've heard.
>>
>>34930799
MD-ADS is pretty good. Since it's an Aimpoint T-series clone it will work with mounts designed for that optic.
