The thing that really pisses me off about stalker is that eventually you have to be an exo wearing NATO armed tank to finish the game, really ruins the whole feel of the game, i just want to be a loner with an ak and a sunrise suit, but there is no incentive to use Warsaw pact weapons at all.

I am playing arsenal, though iv'e heard people say its unbalanced, and that the recoil is horrible and inconsistent, i must admit i haven't noticed a lot. What does /k/ think of Stcop weapons pack mod? It has a lot of the same models as Arsenal and i remember it being fairly good.

Arsenal 3.1? I just reinstalled yesterday, and for some reason the bandits are hostile despite me not installing the optional add-on. I tried copying the "uninstall" files from the add-on and all i got was a crash, nothing has changed? Any clue how to fix this?

well most us land that is a 'preserve/reserve' is owned by the federal government... we are talking about thousands of square miles so it is kinda hard to patrol all that land. plus we wouldn't just get shot, esp. if we weren't even open carrying.

Poland, quite densely populated. Lots of Airsofters play ASG/LARP combo based on STALKER.

The solution is fairly simple: Call the cops beforehand, tell them of the planned game, location, duration, number of players etc, so that they don't need to panic when people call.

They often show up with a patrol car, ask to see the replicas, verify that everything is legal and cool, it's usually a lot of friendly banter, they will often ask to try some of the guns, sometimes stay a while to watch the game (someone usually has some spare goggles for them).

Of course the unwritten, but strongly enforced rules are never to show the replicas in public (outside designated official events), and keep the tacticool equipment in the bag when not in use - simply, don't give the public any reasons to panic. Stay within the game area, stop if any stranger enters, inform politely about what you're doing, generally stay respectful, polite and safe.

And if you fail to follow the rules? The cops will confiscate the replica "for expertise, to determine whether it meets weapon criteria." You'll get it back half a year later and frequently in a rather sorry state. Yeah, they are fully legal to do this, they are fully aware this is a bullshit excuse, and they are fully aware you're an asshole who violated the unofficial rules (spoiling the fun for everyone) and that's your punishment. As result, pretty much everyone is happy, except for the few assholes who were asking for it.

Weapons-wise, we were cucked since WWII, Things are getting better recently actually; you don't need to jump through as many hoops to obtain the permit - although the gun permit still doubles as a search warrant on your house.

OTOH, people aren't really panicky about guns. Gun crime is near zero, and most people realize people don't carry guns to shoot random strangers. Regulations are tight, but sane - guns don't end up in hands of nutcases or idiots, but if you're a regular guy and really want a gun, you can get it.

Also, Airsoft is pretty popular and most of people know about it, and don't act like morons upon spotting an assault rifle in your bag. I'd say we're a sane middle ground between "Wild West" USA and "Gunz are Evul!" UK.

Maks and pistols are only made less viable because of the change to their system in CoP. Now that you can carry any weapon in any slot there's no real reason to take up 2-3 kilos on a pistol and ammo vs more rifle or shot shells.pistol uselessness was always a thing, it's just more apparent. Plus I'd rather not be taking on someone in a skat even with 9x18 ap.

fuck man if i hard the entire game source i would make such great improvements. people should totally remake this game. i would if i had the shekels.

Why has this game had such a large impact on /k/ memeing and culture. It's a game with guns and monsters, one of many.

Is it just the slavboos that cant get enough of a ratty slavic aesthetic and this game is right up their alley?

I've played it before and was thoroughly unimpressed. Installed some mods and the gunplay improved but the gameplay as a whole still fell flat.

What am I missing?
