Bipod near the muzzle is more stable. Bipod near the breech gives more range of motion.

exact, a GIGN guy wrote a whole article on how front end bipod is an heresy and should be avoided at all time. There is shooting data to prove it. bipod should be the nearest to the mass center of the weapon :
- near to 0 weight on the shooter, making waiting in position easier and manipulating the weapon faster
- maximum range of motion
- easier to position the bipod on obstacles
- actually better accuracy
