Is it dumb to buy ammo you don't have a gun for?
Wal-Mart has some .38 Super Auto Winchester white box I'm guessing they got by accident on clearance for $19/box

>Is it dumb to buy ammo you don't have a gun for?
Short answer, yes.
Unless it's for actual curiosity/collection sake for a cartridge line-up or something similar beyond just leaving it boxed in a closet.

Snag that shit. Put it on gunbroker or something.
When I bought my first gun I asked the guy behind the counter for a few boxes of bulk 38 special and a few boxes of +p. Sold me 38 auto and I couldn't return it.

That would be like buying diesel when all you need is gasoline.
Yes it's fucking stupid, leave it for someone who might actually use it.
Follow up: is dumb to buy a gun because you have ammo for it?
>>34917256
Yes, but I've used worse justifications, so I ain't gonna judge.

38 auto? Like .38ACP? Not even .380ACP? What the heck

>is dumb to buy a gun because you have ammo for it?
It's dumb to spend 500-1000 bucks on a gun just because you heave 50rds for it, yeah. Maybe a little more justifiable if you have a lot of it.
But if you kindof wanted the gun anyway, go for it. The ammo is just icing on the cake.

No, you can always trade the box for a blowjob when SHTF.

Buy a gun ,cuck
>>34917132
If you're purely buying just on a whim, yes.
If you actually plan on getting a gun for the ammo or giving the ammo as a gift to someone, no.

Totally agree. I know I'm going to get an ak74, i just cant find the one i want yet. So I'm thinking of ordering a case of 5.45 while it's cheap and easy to find. It's not likely to get any cheaper and it's easy to get rid of if my plans change.

No, ammo and guns are both as good as cash, at least around where I'm from.
