Bought a S&W 952-2 performance center at a pawn shop today for 800 out the door. Shot it this afternoon; it's amazing. I'm still blown away by how cheap it was, all things considered. Anyone else here have a s&w auto? Im still not sure how much this one is actually worth
>longslide competition model 9mm S&W auto
That's a steal. They're hard to find and great shooters.
S&W autos are nice guns, but they're definitely products of their time. Heavy, overbuilt, good triggers hurt by trigger disconnects, giant slide-mounted safety/decockets.
I just got my Performance Center 4006 Shorty Forty back from repair. Bought it used from a shop and they sent it out for me when I found some broken parts. I was actually hoping they'd give me a price break, like how they usually do. Still, I think I got it for a decent price, 600 bucks with 4 mags and night sights (although they're way to dim for practical use, being like 22 years old). I hate the hogue grips though, makes the gun way too fat, and will be getting the factory plastic grips instead.
Not shot it yet though. Might be a while still. I'll probably wait until I pick up a few other guns I have on order and layaway and go spend a whole day off at the range.

Very nice. Looks to be in great shape and those wood grips are sexy as hell.

How much is this actually worth? Performance center shit never goes for less than 4 digits generally. It's used of course

Some PC guns, if they have box and docs, can go for retarded amounts.

I still carry a 5946 on patrol.
Got to play with some performance center third gen once, was pretty impressed.
Like most things S&W, the basic design is good, but the execution tends to be mediocre.
Honestly, in your shoes OP, I'd turn around and sell it for a profit and get something really nice, like an SP-01 Orange or a Tanfoglio limited. Third gen Smiths are a dead end platform, Smith no longer supports them with replacement parts, and their fan following is mostly geriatric, so I expect them to become forgotten footnotes in a decade or two.

Nice find, OP.
