Mag feds anyways, shells generally deform in box magazines but in a tube they don't, so box magazine fed shotguns are always inherently less reliable.

shotgun shells are blunt, have different shaped noses and lengths, and vary widely in energy. all of them that i've seen or heard about have been at least a little picky. if you have a self loading shotgun that you have thousands of rounds through, are confident in your ammo and more comfortable with it than any of your other guns go for it. if someone were looking to buy a gun for self defense pump shotguns and modern semi-auto rifles are extremely reliable.

If you leave it loaded in the gun for long periods, it MAY put a small flat on one side of the shell mouth.
I have never experienced a feeding issue due to this.
