>bulletproof
at what point does a bullet stop being a bullet?
i mean if it was big enough would you call it a shell? or a slug?
if it was fast enough would you call it a kinetic kill vehicle?
you twist the english language hard enough bulletproof seems pretty easy

when firearms were first getting to be, pre-flintlock era for example matchlock and handgonne, smiths making plate armor would shoot newly-made cuirass with pistol. if armor succeeded at stopping bullet, it was considered "bullet-proofed", properly inspected, because if armor would stop pistol ball it would likely stop sword blow or glancing hit from halberd or pike as well. if it punctured, plate was discarded, usually melted down and recycled. term survives today in regards of weapons manufacturing, "proofing marks" denote where weapon was manufactured and inspected.
It's very old term that grown with times as new meaning. sorry if my meaning is not clear english is not my first language
