What .308 battle rifle should I buy. Money isn't an issue.
>>34912713
All of them
>>34912713
I was thinking about this myself. I think I've settled on an aftermarket AR 10. I was going to do something like an M14, but I'll make my AR with wood furniture and a 20 in barrel and the carry handle
>>34912713
Yes
>>34912713
Honestely, from aesthetic alone i'd choose an M1A
>>34912713
Jew HBAR FAL
I know thats not what isnt the pic but still...
>>34912848
You had me until wood furniture and carry handle.
Modern plastic stocks are plenty tough and (to me) look better on an AR design. An -A3 upper allow use of one of mant 1 piece scope mounts for rings, and there are plenty of decent mid-priced 3 x 9 scopes that will help make it a good shooter.
Not exactly what you had in mind for a Battle Rifle, maybe, but something with a lot of built in versatility. Something to think about before spending the money.

garand is sweet
m1a is alright
91/g3 shoots clunky with that fuck huge bolt
fal is minute of barn accurate
ar10 has the most bullshit charging handle and buffertube
scar is how much money for extruded metal and plastic?
>>34912713
get a 30-06, is fun i promise
>>34915150
>fal is minute of barn accurate
Why does this not bother me as much as it should? Other than that they're all pretty ass out of the box.
>>34915150
>scar is how much for extruded plastic
Yeah but it's still the best battle rifle made.
>>34915284
I can arm a platoon with mausers for the price of a scar.
>>34915305
and you can outfit your entire air force with MiG-21s for the price of a single F-22, what's your point?
>>34915326
You're the reason I do everything I can not to pay taxes, that's my point.
>>34915381
Presidential material.
>>34912713
PSA PA-10. Accurate, reliable, reasonable weight, <$500 before optics, great aftermarket, great mags.
>>34912713
Scar or MR762. MR762 if you want to focus on long range.
this 308 dpms
>>34912713
>Money isn't an issue.
tfw no money
>>34915411
Is there a bolt action? Bolt actions are faster and more accurate than semiauto so I just want to be getting my monies worth
>>34915245
I don't know much about FAL accuracy. What's the scoop on it?
>>34915438
First it misses, and then it breaks your scope.
>>34915438
i bought one yesterday and am also curious, havent shot it yet

Bait?
>>34915441
>scope
Doing it wrong.
>>34912848
Do it
>>34915441
>then it breaks your scope.
Yes, the SCAR was known to have that problem
>>34912713
Yes
>>34912713
>Money isn't an issue
A real G3
>>34912713
LRB m25, with jon wolfe 18in medium weight fluted barrel, wood stock, wood handguard, SEI muzzle brake, sadlak titanium airborne mount, whitefeather trigger group, sadlak NM guide rod, USGI bolt, USGI op rod, sadlak NM piston, turners sling.
Total cost, 2000, surprisingly
>>34912713
>>34912726
This, if money isn't an issue you should buy all of them then review and sell off as you see fit.
>>34915435
>Bolt actions are faster and more accurate than semiauto
Nigger I own two .30 cal bolt rifles and I wish they had buffers like the AR, otherwise I would just buy a Ruger Precision or a heaviest of barrels.
If I could only ever have one 30 cal battle rifle.

I got an M1A walnut and I wanted to get a rail for it that wasn't an over the receiver rail so I found this third party one that goes in front of it
http://www.gunbroker.com/item/682987981
Problem is that its just the rail and I need a handguard/barrleshroud cover to go with it. My M1A walnut is solid all the way through and I need a slotted one to fit the rail in. Where can I get this barrleshroud that I'm looking for? I can't find fuckall with google.
>>34912713
>>34912713
If you only want one, I'd probably go with an HK MR 308A3. After than I'd probably get a PTR and an M1.
>>34912713
Belgian FN FAL para-verion (no L1A1 bullshit)
>>34915150
>fal is minute of barn accurate
Stop judging the FN FAL based on your experience with an L1A1.
>>34912713
Bought a dozen g3/cetme mags when they were cheap as fuck. For me it would be PTR. Unless a c308 was ridiculously cheap and wouls be a dedicated steel case eating range toy.
>>34915393
Got this from PSA.
Pretty happy with my purchase
