Posted this in the last few threads already. Last time I got a couple suggestions and I was hoping for more. I'm really leaning towards a mauser of some sort, so what do you have and what do you like?
As a secondary question, is there some sort of resource out there to help with grading the condition (poor, fair etc.) of surplus firearms? I'm fairly new to milsurp.

I've seen a few video's saying its more likely to be an 1888, since they were most common with the bayonet, but it clearly says 1884 on the trapdoor.

Have a k98 coming to me next week. I check my usual sites and most of the cheaper 8mm is out of stock. A few days prior it was in stock everywhere. I know the PPU stuff is underloaded because of the worry of old round bullet mausers blowing up, but it was still the most reasonably priced ammo that wasn't flat out shit like PW arms. S&B is out too.

So, is the wolf brass cased 8mm any good, or should I just spend money on hornady?

which south american mauser is best?
thinking about chile, peru or brazilian, all based on the 98 system.
